In Malaysia? The people dont say " Assalamu alaikum" as how it should be pronounced, instead it comes out something like " Sam Lay Kum" lol hehehe...
When I'm greeting my aunts/uncles I usually say Assalamu'alaikum followed by Apa Khabar (insert name of aunt or uncle ) followed by the traditional hand kissing.
With other people I just smile....I'm not much of a talker kay:
Is it true "The people In Malaysia dont say Assalamu'alaikum but 'Sam Lay Kum'?" I wouldnt know that n havnt heard at all. Coz m Malaysian too n Alhamdulillah, m attending masjid almost everyday - n walk everywhere to my office, to masjid, to shop etc.. n normally on my way to those destinations, people who wellknown me alwaz greet Salaams, n they phrase it perfectly. Even in masjid KLCC.. i havnt heard that "Sam lay Kum" frm Imams til those Indonesian's cleaners.. They r saying Salaam perfectly.. N "Apa Khabar" as well after "Assalamu'alaikum..."
But maybe u r right - to them who dont bother the meaning of "Assalam Alaikum".
ok here is a bosnian brother sayin whats up to all of ya....(keep in mind that muslims in bosnia still say salaam to each other)
ok we say Djesi, Shta Ima?....or....Whats up, Whats new?
well in Creole you say "sak pase" or "bonjour"... but it really depends who you're speaking to. There are hardly any Hatian Muslims ... so salam is not an option.

im not baruchi im surti i do say kem cho[MOUSE]lol[/MOUSE]
"Yo what up dawg!" or "Sup Budday?" or "Hello" or "Hi" or "Hasam (me and my friend made that word up...)" or "Hola"
The best thing in the whole world you can do...is "wink"... I love it. That is basically how I greet people by winking. My friends laugh about it, but they do it too...because once you have mastered it...you feel sooo cool winking. lol
Goodbyes- "I would like to bid you adieu." "Farewell my friends!" "Adios."
"Hasta la vista!" "Hasta luego".... and "Bye-bye."
--These are a couple of phrases I use...and some w!nking I love to do...

Czesc - chesici - Hi, hello - say "ch" like in word "cheap", "s" and "c" in soft way

Dobranoc - dobranots - good night
Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one calling to Faith: 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed.
Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al-Abrar
