I'm very interested in the somali language, so can someone inshâ'Allâh translate these words for me, jazak Allâhu khayr..

Osmaniya script is beautiful

but i think the script used by somali poets is nicer

I've never come across it.........

and before written somali came into existence, the language was only verbal...

it looks greek/hebrew to me!

it's one system of somali writting that is called the Borama Script

it was mainly used by poets

true! but they are indigineous devised writting systems

Osmaniya Script has some Arabic influences but Borama Script is unique

there somalis who still use Osmaniya script like my Uncles but Borama i have no idea

there are probably some poets in Borama city who still use it since it was devised there and probably means alot to my people there

Salam aleikum all.. this is old thread and I wonder if anyone could still teach somali language here..
Im very exited to learn somalians coulture, language etc.. I have many somalian friends but they always teach only swearing so I know lot of these words :S
