    The Book of Deeds

    Chapter 50 - Surah Qaf
    17.
(Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive, one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions)

    Chapter 82 - Surah Al-Infitar
    10.
But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you.
    11. Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds).
    12. They know all that you do.

    Chapter 17 - Surah Al-Isra'
    13.
And We have fastened every man's deeds to his neck, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall bring out for him a book which he will find wide open.
    14. (It will be said to him): "Read your book. You yourself are sufficient as a reckoner against you this Day."
    15. Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his ownself. And whoever goes astray, then he goes astray to his own loss...

    Chapter 18 - Surah Al-Kahf
    49.
And the Book (one's Record) will be placed (in the right hand for a believer in the Oneness of Allah, and in the left hand for a disbeliever in the Oneness of Allah)…

Believers: Receiving Their Book Of Deeds in their Right Hand

    Chapter 17 - Surah Al-Isra'
    71.
...So whosoever is given his record in his right hand, such will read their records, and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.

    Chapter 57 - Surah Al-Hadid
    12.
On the Day you shall see the believing men and the believing women their light running forward before them and by their right hands. Glad tidings for you this Day! Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever! Truly, this is the great success!

    Chapter 69 - Surah Al-Haqqah
    19.
Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record!
    20. "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!"
    21. So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing.
    22. In a lofty Paradise
    23. The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand.
    24. Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past!

    Chapter 84 - Surah Inshiqaq
    7. Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand,
    8. He surely will receive an easy reckoning,
    9. And will return to his family in joy!

Disbelievers: Receiving Their Book Of Deeds in their Left Hand

    Chapter 18 - Surah Al-Kahf
    49.
...you will see the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.), fearful of that which is (recorded) therein. They will say: "Woe to us! What sort of Book is this that leaves neither a small thing nor a big thing, but has recorded it with numbers!"...

    Chapter 69 - Surah Al-Haqqah
    25.
But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record!
    26. "And that I had never known, how my Account is?
    27. "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)!
    28. "My wealth has not availed me
    29. "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!"
    30. (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him
    31. Then throw him in the blazing Fire.
    32. "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!"
    33. Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great
    34. And urged not on the feeding of Al*Miskin (the poor)
    35. So no friend has he here this Day
    36. Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds
    37. None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.).

    Chapter 84 - Surah Inshiqaq
    10.
But whosoever is given his Record behind his back,
    11. He will invoke (his) destruction,
    12. And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning.
    13. Verily, he was among his people in joy!
    14. Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!
    15. Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him!
