I said Shahada, first privately, then to a Muslim for a witness on the phone. It's been two days (ironically enough I said it on Easter Sunday.) My son knows I'm now a Muslim, my father groans and thinks it's a "phase." My son is happy about it, and asks a lot of questions.
I'd like to say how glad I am that I contacted a Muslim charity for a free Qu'raan. They were more than supportive, and have answered many questions, including advice on how and when to prayer, how to wash before hand etc.
So, I'm very new, not terribly knowledgeable, but very happy. Just wanted you to know.
Help me to escape from this existence
I yearn for an answer... can you help me?
I'm drowning in a sea of abused visions and shattered dreams
In somnolent illusion... I'm paralyzed
congrats sister, may Allah provide you many blessings in this world and the next
He it is Who sends blessings on you, as do His angels, that He may bring you out from the depths of Darkness into Light: and He is Full of Mercy to the Believers. [Quran {33:43}] www.QuranicAudio.com www.Quran.com
They merely:
Veiled themselves and didn't flaunt it
Sought forgiveness and didn't persist
Took ownership of it and don't justify it
And acted with excellence after they had erred - Ibn al-Qayyim
welcome back to Islam, sister
May Allah keep you steadfast in your eeman and deen
This is a great time for you to make as much du'a (supplications) and prayers as possible, as your past sins have been erased InshaAllah
I do not yet have permission to access the page. Never mind... I hope to stick around on this forum for a while, when I get access I'll change my details.
I'm still really happy... I'm part of a choir, which sings traditional folk music and medieval Christian music... going tonight, have to tell them there are certain songs I can't sing anymore. So this may be my last choir night! I'll let you know how they react.
