Assalamu alaikum
My question is in regards to halal meat and what makes it halal (I hope this is the proper forum for my Q). I understand that it is the way the animal is slaughtered, where cut, and the invocation of the name of Allah (swt). Is this done with a specific prayer?
Reference to Quran is apprecaited. Shukria
Not trying to hijack thread - But are we in the USA allowed to eat Kosher products as long as they contain no pork, or alcohol ? The reason I ask is because when going to the market here in the USA, I often times can find Kosher products but never any halal label products.
The Prophet said: 'The religion (of Islam) is easy. No one ever made it difficult without it becoming too much for him. So avoid extremes and strike a balance, do the best you can and be cheerful, and seek Allah's help (through prayer) in the morning, and evening, and part of the night.' (Sahîh Bukhârî)
