I have recently converted to Islam a few weeks ago, I am being taught by a Muslim friend I met online. However, yesterday, I missed Isha'a and Fajr. I feel very very bad about it. I just became a Muslim, and I am already failing, and disappointing Allah.
I am still in high school, so I still live with my parents. I haven't told any of them about the conversion to Islam. My father is a Christian, and he hates Islam. I've tried to get the prayers done as much as possible. I've had to sneak them when my parents are not watching. My friend has told me that you should make them up as soon as you remember them. And I did, but I still feel very bad about it. I feel like I am a failure, for not even being able to do a simple 5 prayers a day. Can Allah forgive me for missing two prayers?
Calm down bro, you're just experiencing what it's like to be muslim! It is good that you feel that way as it is a reflection of your consciousness of God and it is something some have lost over repeatedly doing wrong actions. God has made the path to Him soooo easy. If you miss a prayer, you can make it up. There's no "If you miss a prayer, you're done for.".
He looks not just at your deeds but more importantly your intentions, your strive. Even if the whole world thinks you're the most rotten person, the most evil.. His Mercy is still open to you. Never despair of God's Mercy my dear brother.

There are so many Muslims who don't offer salat regularly , don't even go to mosque on Friday . I wish they take lesson from our newly converts like u .

ALLAH is mercyfull. Never disheart from HIS mercy.
ALLAH said i will forgive every sin but SHIRK and kufr will not be forgiven.
I am born muslim and i pray from my early age. Sometime i also missed my prayer then i again pray as kaza prayer (i did not made habbit to leave my prayer) hoping ALLAH to accept my off time prayer.
Do your best to prayers and recitation of quran. But don 't make habbit to mis prayer and do not miss prayer by your will.
Remember ALLAH everytime, do zikar as much as you can.
Do not disheart with ALLAH 's mercy, as being disheart from HIS mercy also kufr.
You should not tell your parents because if you wil tell them it will be difficult for you to gain knowledge about islam and to practice islam. Companion r.a of messenger s.a.w.w also sneak their islam in the bigning of islam.
May ALLAH forgive our sins and guide us. Ameen

Subhan ALLAH. ALAH is pure from disappintment. We also feel sametime failing so don 't disheart with the mercy of ALLAH.
Infact your feeling of failing is the sign that you have imaan. The person who have something fears the lost.

Oh my! If I had been as good a Muslim as you...
You know, when I first discovered Islam, I had no idea about the prayers. I just did my own prayers, whenever. It took many years before I found out about the prayers. And then I couldn't find anyone to teach me (because it's not in the Qur'an. I looked). So I ended up finding a children's book explaining Islam to non-Muslims, where the prayers were more-or-less described. At first, I held off doing the prayer like in the book because it wasn't perfectly "right". But Allah Taught me a little lesson, and brought me literally into sujud. And I realized that it wasn't important exactly how I prayed. But I had to get down and do it. So I did what I could. But I didn't think I could do all the prayers. So I started with one a day (isha). Then two (with fajr), then three, etc…it took me quite a few weeks before I had them all. And eventually, someone gave my husband a book with all the words and descriptions of how to pray, and I learnt the proper words, again over a couple of weeks, bit by bit.
So I take my hat off to you, my dear young man. You are doing great, I think. Actually, try not to overdo things. Because you'll find there are just so many things that Muslims can do to worship Allah! Otherwise you might find yourself like a crash dieter, finding that you can't keep to a too-sudden change in diet in one go. You know, it took the people in the time of the Prophet (PBUH) 23 years to get all the details and change their lives completely! Allah Knows you're trying very hard. Trust in Him. He is the Loving, the Kind, the Generous, the Compassionate. Change your habits bit by bit, and you'll find it easier to keep to them in the long run. Allah Loves small but continuous efforts over large and sporadic ones, you know.

Walecum As Salaam brother don't despair from mercy of Allah in fact looking at ur post had motivated me more towards obeying Allah,I m 24 till 21 I was just namesake muslim,ask for forgiveness from Allah and continue striving to obey Allah because Allah says in ch 29 v 69 that if you strive in way of Allah Allah will open pathways for you, if you fear Allah Allah will offer help from the source u never imagined (ch 65 v 2-3).may Allah ease all your reckonings.Ameen.

Akhi (brother) if you are already praying after being a muslim only for a few weeks I give you a thumb up for that . Some have been muslims for years and dont pray their prayers INTENSIONALLY (May Allah guide them. Aameen) so you are ahead of alot of BORN muslims mashaAllah (God has willed it). Start with slow and steady progress that will stay with you (dont pray for 2 weeks or compulsory and optional prayers and then dont pray anything after it) until it becomes natural to you inshaAllah (God willing). In terms of your parents heres a ayah (verse) conserning them
Surah (Chapter) Luqman Chapter 31 of The Holy Quran Ayah 15 But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do. And may Allah (swt) help you and reward you

Bro, your imaan is so clearly visible mashaAllah! You made up the prayers, you regretted the sin and you've asked for forgiveness. You can't turn back the clock, there is absolutely nothing else you can do. It's great that you feel awful, as it's an awful thing. BUT, don't let it dishearten you.
I remember, I once was in your shoes exactly. I came to Islam as a teenager in secret. I didn't tell my parents as I thought they'd never understand, nor accept.
I've been there, and come out the other side with a GREAT relationship with my parents. Better than I had before, despite their initial objections alhamdulillah.
