My son was depressed, used to drink and gambling, he really had no purpose in life. He became a muslim and he stopped drinking and gambling.
What could've had made such an impact on our son, what is it about Islam that can change a person from such a negative to such a positive?
If you ask my wife, what has Islam given to you - she will say, Islam has given me my son back.
As an investigative journalist I was investigating a case which involved a family that has been plagued by something they couldn't see.
For the first time in decades, I was facing a case I couldn't understand. I happened to be talking to a muslim friend and mentioned this case.
He asked me if I have a copy of the Qur'an and asked me to read a particular chapter, Surat Al-Jinn.
As I was reading it, I realized this particular entity is responsible for a lot of the paranormal activities, inexplicable events we see in this world.
The surat also explains perfectly what was happening in this particular case. And I realized that for 1,500 years people have been researching about supernatural, paranormal, all the time the answer we were looking is in the Qur'an from the beginning.
Jabir bin 'Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:'A slave (of Allah) shall not believe until he believes in Al-Qadar, its good and its bad, such that he knows that what struck him would not have missed him, and that what missed him would not have struck him." (Jami 'at Tirmidhi)
