    Advice To Those Behind You

    As Salam Alaykum,

For those of us Muslims who have taken our first new steps as babies in Islam, we learn alot and realise, whilst looking back at our early days, that we could have avoided alot.

It makes sense then to have a thread in which those who have taken steps to provide an insight into mistakes or problems which one might face as a new Muslims and how to deal with them. From words of encouragement to steps on how to make things easier.

I thought we should have a thread and after a while make it a sticky thread with all the suggestions summarised.

Suggestions can include; quick one liner slogans, words of scholars, words of the Prophet pertaining to this topic, good websites, learning methods, books, etc.

So, I would say my advice,

Do not overburden yourself with the work of scholars, don't try be a muhaddith before you can even read arabic.

The path is long but I hope we meet,
After the grave and the Day, in paradise in bliss upon a reclined seat.

A traveler traveling - travelled from shirk to tawheed,
If I'm remembered for anything - let it be the Mercy I seek.

Re: Advice To Those Behind You

What a great idea brother -- inshaAllah this will be beneficial to new muslims and also the seasoned ones alike.

The main thing i keep in mind is this (not sure of the ayat or hadith so maybe someone can help out there inshaAllah)

Its with every hardship comes ease.

Never forget this as Allah swt tests us but through every hardship there will be ease and the most important is to remember Him and be grateful to Him in both times of hardship and ease.

Busy your tongue with the remembrance of allah swt. (best way to be kept busy both for the hr of your death may come with allah on your lips and also to stay away from haraam)

As a new muslim i found my 1st three months the most easiest the most exciting and the highest eman -- allah swt made removing haram in my life easy very very easy --- things i thought i could never be able to handle without allah and islam suddenly was a walk in the park BUT my dearest brothers and sisters, allah swt will test your love for him and he did trial me with returning some of the haram he had removed.

At first as a new muslim you dont recognise that this is indeed whats happening but you will come to realise that allah swt tests you in the most amazing and unexpected ways and you must be prepared at least to recognise that THIS IS THE TEST.

Remembering allah swt much and turning to him for everything in times of hardship and ease, busying yourself with His remembrance will help so much --- for though he is testing you -- you cannot succeed without HIM either.

Allah swt make him your best friend tell him everything your thinking and feeling make dua'a to Him -- as HE truly is the creator of all, knower of all, the best of protectors, the best of sustainers and the most forgiving and most merciful.

Dont ever ever despair from HIS mercy and forgiveness --- you will falter you will fail you will commit sin and we seek refuge with allah from shaytan the cursed the rejected

but do NOT stay down, pick yourself back up and try harder to do good and be good and follow the commands of allah swt

Remember to destroy a bad deed with plenty of good deeds ASAP for the sake of allah swt and his pleasure inshaAllah.

OK i think i went on for agesss and if brothers and sisters know the hadiths that these words are based on please post them inshaAllah.
