Announcement concerning the beginning date of Dhul Hijjah
It was announced tonight in Mekkah Mukarramah that the crescent moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah was officialy sighted,
thus making Monday , corresponding to 10 December 2007, the first day of the month of Dhul Hijjah.
Thus, the Day of Arafat, 9 Dhul Hijjah, will be on Tuesday, corresponding to 18 December 2007.
Thus, the first Day of eid Aladha, 10 Dhul Hijjah, will be on Wednesday, corresponding to 19 December 2007.
We ask Allaah to help us in remembering Him, praising Him, and perfecting His worship.

JEDDAH, 11 December 2007 — The Arafat Day, when pilgrims will stand in prayer in the plain of Arafat at the peak of Haj this year, will be on Dec. 18, the Supreme Judiciary Council announced yesterday. Eid Al-Adha will be on Dec. 19.
Someone said to the Prophet, "Pray to God against the idolaters and curse them." The Prophet replied, "I have been sent to show mercy and have not been sent to curse." (Muslim)
