Surah Ghafir 40:60

60. And your Lord said: "Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!"

wa alaaykum salaam

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Bismillā hir Rahmā nir Rahīm
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

ِذَا السَّمَاء انفَطَرَتْ (82:1)

Itha alssamao infatarat

82:1 (Y. Ali) When the Sky is cleft asunder;

وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ (82:2)

Waitha alkawakibu intatharat

82:2 (Y. Ali) When the Stars are scattered;

وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ (82:3)

Waitha albiharu fujjirat

82:3 (Y. Ali) When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth;

وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ (82:4)

Waitha alqubooru buAAthirat

82:4 (Y. Ali) And when the Graves are turned upside down;-

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ (82:5)

AAalimat nafsun ma qaddamat waakhkharat

82:5 (Y. Ali) (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back.

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ (82:6)

Ya ayyuha alinsanu ma gharraka birabbika alkareemi

82:6 (Y. Ali) O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most

الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ (82:7)

Allathee khalaqaka fasawwaka faAAadalaka

82:7 (Y. Ali) Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion,

فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاء رَكَّبَكَ (82:8)

Fee ayyi sooratin ma shaa rakkabaka

82:8 (Y. Ali) In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together.

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ (82:9)

Kalla bal tukaththiboona bialddeeni

82:9 (Y. Ali) Day! nit ye do reject Right and Judgment!

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ (82:10)

Wainna AAalaykum lahafitheena

82:10 (Y. Ali) But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect

كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ (82:11)

Kiraman katibeena

82:11 (Y. Ali) Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds):

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ (82:12)

YaAAlamoona ma tafAAaloona

82:12 (Y. Ali) They know (and understand) all that ye do.

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ (82:13)

Inna alabrara lafee naAAeemin

82:13 (Y. Ali) As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss;

وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ (82:14)

Wainna alfujjara lafee jaheemin

82:14 (Y. Ali) And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire,

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ (82:15)

Yaslawnaha yawma alddeeni

82:15 (Y. Ali) Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment,

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ (82:16)

Wama hum AAanha bighaibeena

82:16 (Y. Ali) And they will not be able to keep away therefrom.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ (82:17)

Wama adraka ma yawmu alddeeni

82:17 (Y. Ali) And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment

ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ (82:18)

Thumma ma adraka ma yawmu alddeeni

82:18 (Y. Ali) Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ (82:19)

Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsin shayan waalamru yawmaithin lillahi

82:19 (Y. Ali) (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.

O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may acquire taqwa (piety).

Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He alone has the right to be worshipped."
