All prayer tables i look at online show prayer times in the UK at the moment to be around 5.30, 11.50, 2.30 16.15 & 18.00. At my local mosque though some times seem to be about an hour later and a brother rung me saying he was going to Isha at 7 after i'd performed it at 6. Could anyone explain why this could be?
Not sure if it could be to do with GMT & BST maybe or different schools of thought. I am still learning about salah so excuse me if ive said anything stupid.
Re: Can someone help with curent prayer times in the UK?
oh now i get it. the jamaat time will be different from the start of the prayer.
prayer times increase/decrease by a few minutes every day depending on what time of yr it is. so to keep the jamaat time somewhat constant (so that people can regularly attend) the mosque may choose for example to hold zuhr at 1:00. zuhr is from 11:50 - 2:30
however the time for the jamaat for maghrib prayer, which should be held promptly at at sunset, will change everyday. (it should be getting earlier by a minute or so every day) as we move to summer it wll get delayed by a minute or so.
