    Fardh and Sunnah

    Everyone,

The most widely accepted prayers table of rakkat is something like below

    Fajar: 2 Sunnah, 2 Fardh

    Zuhur: 4 Sunnah, 4 Fardh, 2 Sunnah, 2 Nafel

    Aser: 4 Sunnah, 4 Fardh

    Maghrib: 3 Fardh, 2 Sunnah, 2 Nafel

    Isha: 4 Sunnah, 4 Fardh, 2 Sunnah, 2 Nafel, 3 Witr

Just mentioned them for easy reference.

The fardh are compulsary. From my knowledge, I understand and have read that The Sunnah, are two types, one that should definitely be prayed like Fardh and the second type is which can be omitted during prayers (like the 4 sunnah before Aser fardh).

I wish to know, that sometimes we are just too tired to pray the sunnah along with fardh. Is it enough to pray fardh alone at this time. And what if we r not even tired and we only pray fardh prayers 5 times a day.

Here in Arab world, I see few people praying sunnah. Mostly I see people only praying Fardh. I have been brought up with different education. I have been taught that if u do not pray the sunnah of the first type, it is like leaving ur prayers incomplete.

Secondly, I'd like to know the fatwas regarding sitting and praying. When can one sit and pray? Can it be merely used when one is tired to stand and pray?
Sometimes, due to intense exhaustion, I find it difficult to stand from the sitting position. So I'd like to know when can I use the sitting postions to pray.

    Thank u and
    Fardh and Sunnah

    Salam alaykom
As far as I know about the prayers it that you have to pray the Fardh but there is no obligation to do Sunnah. Of course it is liked by Allah if you pray Sunnah as well but I think when you are tired and you have difficulties to focus on the prayer and are not doing it with all your heart it is the same as not praying it.
As for the sitting-I think you are only allowed to sit down if you have physical difficulties to stand or prostrate/. I am not sure if exhasution would fall into tat category.

Umm... dunno what kind of people you have been talking to lol, but the sunnah prayers are not obligatory at all! There is no sin on your for leaving them.

Of course it is very very very highly recommended to pray them but it is not fardh!
