وضع عمر على سريره ، فتكنفه الناس يدعون ويصلون قبل أن يرفع ، وأنا فيهم ، فلم يرعنى إلا رجل آخذ منكبى ، فإذا على فترحم على عمر ، وقال ما خلفت أحدا أحب إلى أن ألقى الله بمثل عمله منك ، وايم الله ، إن كنت لأظن أن يجعلك الله مع صاحبيك ، وحسبت أنى كنت كثيرا أسمع النبى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يقول ذهبت أنا وأبو بكر وعمر ، ودخلت أنا وأبو بكر وعمر ،
وخرجت أنا وأبو بكر وعمر

Hadhrat `Abdullaah ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنه narrates, "When (Hadhrat) `Umar was placed upon his bed (after he had passed away), and the people gathered around him, to make Du`aa for him and perform the Janaazah Salaah for him before his body was taken away, I was among them. I felt someone (from behind) put his hands on my shoulders. I turned around and saw that it was (Hadhrat) `Ali. He made Du`aa (to Allaah) to have mercy upon (Hadhrat) `Umar and thereafter said, "You have not left behind you anyone whose deeds I would like to meet Allaah with more than I would like to meet Allaah with your deeds. By Allaah! I always knew that Allaah would place you with your two companions. So many times I used to hear Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم saying, "I, Abu Bakr and `Umar went." "I, Abu Bakr and `Umar entered." "I, Abu Bakr and `Umar left." [Narrated in Saheeh al-Bukhaari in the chapter of the Virtues of the Sahaabah.]
عن أبي بردة عن أبيه قال صلينا المغرب مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثم قلنا لو جلسنا حتى نصلي معه العشاء قال فجلسنا فخرج علينا فقال ما زلتم هاهنا قلنا يا رسول الله صلينا معك المغرب ثم قلنا نجلس حتى نصلي معك العشاء قال أحسنتم أو أصبتم قال فرفع رأسه إلى السماء وكان كثيرا مما يرفع رأسه إلى السماء فقال النجوم أمنة للسماء فإذا ذهبت النجوم أتى السماء ما توعد وأنا أمنة لأصحابي فإذا ذهبت أتى أصحابي ما يوعدون وأصحابي أمنة لأمتي فإذا ذهب أصحابي أتى أمتي ما يوعدون
Hadhrat Abu Burdah narrates from his father, who said, "We performed Maghrib with Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم and thereafter we said, 'Why don't we continue sitting until we perform `Ishaa with him as well?' So we sat. He came out to us (`Ishaa time) and inquired, 'For what reason did you remain here?' We said, 'Yaa Rasoolallaah, we performed Maghrib with you, then we said, 'Why don't we continue sitting until we perform `Ishaa with you as well?' He said, 'You have done well.' Thereafter, he raised his head to the sky - and very often he would raise his head to the sky - and he said, 'The stars are a protection for the sky; when they go, that which was promised to the sky will come to it. I am a protection for my Sahaabah; when I go, that which was promised to my Sahaabah will come to them. My Sahaabah are a protection for my Ummah; when they go, that which was promised my Ummah will come to it." [Narrated in Saheeh Muslim in the Chapter of the Virtues of the Sahaabah.]
The `Ulamaa explain that the meaning of the words "that which was promised to it" means those trials, tribulations, hardships, difficulties, etc. which the Ummah was warned of, would come only after the Sahaabah had left the Dunyaa.
He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him [59:23]
The Death of Hadhrat Huzaifah ibn al-Yamaan رضي الله عنه
As Hadhrat Huzaifah رضي الله عنه was laying to die, some of the Sahaabah came to visit him. He asked them what time it is, so they told him it is approaching dawn. He said, "I seek protection with Allaah from a dawn that will take me to the fire of Jahannam." He then sent two Sahaabah to buy a Kafan (burial shroud). They came back with something that was expensive and striped. He said, "This is not for me. Buy two plain white sheets, because they will not remain on me except a very short time. If your companion (i.e. myself) is good, it will soon be exchanged for something much better (in Jannah). And if your companion is other than that, it will soon be exchanged for something much worse."
As he was about to die, he said:
لولا أن هذا الوم آخر يوم من الدنيا وأول يوم من الآخرة لم أتكلم به, اللهم إنك تعلم أني كنت أحب الفقر على و
الغنى, وأحب الذلة على العزة, وأحب الموت على الحياة
هذه آخر ساعة من الدنيا, اللهم إنك تعلم إني أحبك فبارك لي في لقائك
مرحباً بالموت, حبيب جاء على شوق
Marhaban bil-Maut; Habeebun Jaa'a `alaa Shawq...
"If it had not been that this is the last day of the days of this Dunyaa, and the first of the days of the Aakhirah, I would not have spoken this. O Allaah! You know that I loved poverty over riches; that I loved humility over authority and positions of power; and that I loved death over life. This is the very last moment of this Dunyaa. O Allaah, You know that I love You, so bless me in my meeting with You.
Welcome, death. A beloved has come after a long period of yearning."
So saying, he left this Dunyaa.
رضي الله عنه وأدخله فسيح جناته
[Here, he was referring to Maut as a beloved. That is because Sahaabah loved death more than other people love life. They had no love in their hearts for this Dunyaa and wanted to leave it for the Aakhirah as soon as possible. Also, most importantly, they wanted to leave the Dunyaa in order to see Allaah Ta`aalaa and be with their loved ones: Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم, the Ambiyaa, the Sahaabah, the Shuhadaa; all the people who moved on to the Aakhirah before them. May Allaah Ta`aalaa reunite us very soon with those we love, آمين يا رب العالمين]

A life where it is used in the path of Allah, in benefit of humanity and in the service of Islam, is definitely something good that is why I made that dua, may the ummah continue to benefit from your help and may Allah swt increase you in knowledge ameen.
And, may Allah swt raise you up with the shuhada, the pious and the truthful ones, and for us all too. Allah knows your intentions.
وعن عبد الرحمن بن عثمان القرشي، "أن رسول الله دخل على ابنته رقية، وهي تغسل رأس عثمان فقال: "يَا بُنَيَّةُ، أَحْسِنِي إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، فَإِنَّهُ أَشْبَهُ أَصْحَابِي بِي خُلُقًا
`Abdur Rahmaan ibn `Uthmaan al-Qurashi narrates that Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم entered upon his daughter Ruqayyah رضي الله عنها one day while she was washing the head (of her husband,) `Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said to her, "O my beloved daughter, be good to Abu `Abdillaah (i.e. Hadhrat `Uthmaan رضي الله عنه) because from my companions, he resembles me the most in Akhlaaq (character). [Narrated in al-Mu`jam al-Kabeer of Imaam at-Tabraani.]
عن النزال بن سبرة الهلالي قال: قلنا لعلي: يا أمير المؤمنين، فحدثنا عن عثمان بن عفان. فقال: ذاك امرؤ يُدعى في الملأ الأعلى ذا النورين، كان خَتَن رسول الله على ابنتيه (أي: زوج ابنتيه)، ضمن له بيتًا في الجنة
An-Nazzaal ibn Saburah al-Hilaali narrates, "We said to `Ali رضي الله عنه, "O Ameer-ul-Mu'mineen!" and we spoke to him about `Uthmaan (رضي الله عنه). He said, "That is a man who is referred to by al-Mala'-ul-A`laa (the senior most among the Malaa'ikah themselves) as "Dhu-n Noorayn" (The Possessor of Two Lights). He was the son-in-law of Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم for two of his daughters. Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم guaranteed for him a house in Jannah."
Hadhrat Huzaifah ibn al-Yamaan رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "I do not know how long I will remain among you (in this Dunyaa), so follow the two after me," and he pointed to Abu Bakr and `Umar." [Narrated in Sunan ibn Maajah.]
Hadhrat `Amr ibn al-`Aas رضي الله عنه narrates that Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم placed him in charge of the army of Dhaat as-Salaasil. (He says): "So I came to him and asked, "Who of mankind is most beloved to you?" He said, "`Aa'ishah." I asked, "From the men?" He replied, "Her father." I asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Then `Umar ibn al-Khattaab." Thereafter, he mentioned more men." [Narrated in Saheeh al-Bukhaari.]
Hadhrat Abu Sa`eed al-Khudhri رضي الله عنه narrates: "I heard Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم saying: "While I was sleeping, I was shown the people (i.e. my Ummah) presented to me, and upon them were Qumus (Kurtahs). Some of them, their Qamees reached their upper chests. Some of them, (their Qamees) reached less than that. `Umar was presented to me, and his Qamees (was so long) he was dragging it." They (the Sahaabah) asked: "How do you interpret it, Yaa Rasoolallaah?" He said, "Deen." [Narrated in Saheeh al-Bukhaari.]
Subhan'Allah, seeing this you’d really get to think how would Jannah be if in dunyā such beauty already exists.
Though many may come to witness it’s intricate details in real life, still I ask everyone that when we go and visit places like these, our intentions are not to visit it as a tourist but a resident who have yearned a lot of coming back to his/her home.
For the masajīd are places where such peace in the heart can be found and powerful thoughts and reflections of how we are doing with our imān can emerge. Alhamdulillah.
