The Muslims Council of Britain denounced a new book that claims that political correctness has allowed the establishment of "Muslim ghettos".

Author Anthony Browne claimed that such “Muslim ghettos” produce young men “who commit mass murder at their fellow citizens”.

Inayat Bunglawala, of the Muslim Council of Britain, denounced the term “ghetto” as inflammatory, saying that Browne‘s claim is "an outrageous assertion" and "unsubstantiated".

“No one describes Jewish areas, such as Golders Green, as ghettos. When new immigrants arrive they tend to cluster together for convenience. The term `ghettos' is deeply misleading."

Sher Khan, head of the public affairs committee at the Muslim Council of Britain, said political correctness could serve a purpose, providing it does not obstruct the truth.

“Mr Browne's interpretation of the facts is skewed and his point of view reflects a particular bias.

"Take, for example, his comments about anti-Semitic attacks being committed by Muslims instead of white skinheads. Where is his evidence? Does he have police reports that say that?" Khan asked.
