    Help

    Report bad ads?

Hi, I am relatively new here and have not really posted, but I have a question for any American Muslims.
You see, I am thinking about writing a story about how Muslims and people who look like they are from the middle east are discriminated against and hated since September 11th, 2001. I have seen it personally, but I would like to know other people's stories if it is not too much to ask.
I have a copy of the Koran, and I brought it with me to school so that I could try and read it (since that is the only time I ever have to read). But as soon as people saw it they changed the way they looked at me. Some kids said if I converted, I would lose their friendship. (Because, "Muslims kill thousands of people without reason..." that is what he said, I do not feel that way.)
A lot of people would not even touch the Koran (like if I needed them to hold my books). I was appaled.
I would like to hear what, if anything, has happened to Muslims who live or lived in America after 9/11. If possible I would like to hear if there was any change in attitudes towards you after that fateful day.

I am sorry about such a long post. You do not have to do this. I may or may not right this story, but if I did, I, not being a Muslim, would need more to go on than my single experiance.
    Thank you all in advance.

I'm sorry if this is a personal question, but I am just wondering if anyone has ever experianced some form of discrimination because of your religious views.
    Thank you

    Re: Help

It depends on where you live in America. I travel a lot and have not faced any discrimination or name calling in Texas or Minnesota. I have faced some in South Dakota, but more so because my wife is Native American Cheyenne tribe, not because we are Muslim. I have experienced people who feared me in Connecticut, but they soon found that I was no danger to them.

My youngest Daughter did face some problems in Dallas shortly after 9/11 and had some people spit at her and call her names.

Peace be upon those who follow the guidance,

thank you for your interest in Islam little brother. the 1st thing that i would do [which, actually, i didn't!], would be to look into 9/11 and see if the govt's story holds water, which, it doesn't!

    check these vids:

    911 Mysteries Part 1 - Demolitions (Full - 1ed.)
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...71955308136871

^^notice the Firemen describing how they felt that the towers were brought down by controlled demolitions. 27 minutes or so in, pay attention to William Rodriguez as he [and others] describe all the explosions in the basement, ESPECIALLY the one HUGE one BEFORE the 1st plane hit^^

9/11 Contradictions - David Ray Griffin with VC Citizens for Impeachment Patriot Series
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...32398046778047

^^just enjoy this one. and then google David Ray Griffin and watch his vids on google^^

and an interesting one about Peak Oil:
    Oil, Smoke & Mirrors

after learning what's REALLY going on in the world, then i would recommend some translations and websites to learn about Islam

what translation of the Qur'an are you using?

btw, i was one of the right-wing FOX News fanatics until just under 3 years ago
