So recently I've been reading Ziauddin Sardar and Tariq Ramadan. Does anyone have any oppinions about these two fellows?

Try reading basic books on Islam as a starting point, thats really useful since it brings you closer to the foundations of the faith to allow you to get a good grasp of it.
