22 inch vs 24 inch: How much of a difference in quality?

I just cant seem to get a true answer to this. Really.

Nevermind space or "screen real estate"

For gaming, is the increase in image quality worth shelling out the money for a 24 inch monitor at 1920x1200 over a 22 inch one at 1680x1050?

I understand that more powerful computers are required for 24 inch ones and that I would be upgrading more often...but am I going to see THAT much of a difference in image quality to justify the expense?

I recently got a bigger monitor, but it didn't make things better. On the contary, the game I was playing didn't seem to know how to adjust the graphics to fit the screen, and the result was really blury, horrible images. I don't know whether this will affect you or not though.

Not really addressing the point in question but are you upgrading from a small widescreen monitor to a big one, or is the one you have now a 4:3 (or thereabouts)?

I ask because I upgraded from a 19" 4:3 (running at 1280x1024) to a 22" 16:9 (approx, running at 1680x1050), and while some of the games scale up beautifully and have built in settings for widescreen play, some don't and end up looking terrible. Need For Speed Carbon is irritating to play because everything is stretched horizontally.

I believe you can find software workarounds for this but it depends on the game. If this is going to be an issue I would check first whether it will be a problem for the games you play most often.

The extra 2 inches won't do much tbh. It won't affect your skillz much and your k/d ratio won't increase/decrease significantly to justify the money you'd have to pay for it.

If you were going from 22 to 30 inches, then you'd see a difference.

I have a 22" inch. You won't notice much difference in the Quality of a 24" inch

The difference in size isn't that big, but the difference between 1920x1200 and 1680x1050 is very noticable espiacally in games. It will all come down to ur graphic card though, u will need a graphic card with more memory to be able to game at playable framerates. So if a decent 24 inch screen is within ur budget then go for it

Its amazing for gaming, its a rare 22 inch screen, because it has a higher resolution not the usual 1680x1050. The resolution is 1920x1080, which isn't that much different than the 1920x1200, plus that screen has build in speakers so u could connect either a ps3 or xbox360 using a hdmi cable.
