I mean, protestants and catholics have many differences between them and use different churches and etc.
Are there really enough differences between sunni and shia to justify the use of terms like shia and sunni? We pray in the same place. We follow the same pillars. We use the same exact book.
I feel like we should get rid of those words and refer to ourselves as only Muslim.
Re: Are the differences between Muslims great enough to be sects like "sunni" etc?
Salam alikum
How do you feel about the companions and mothers of believers may allah be pleased with them all ? that would be the main question when you start referring to shia
They merely:
Veiled themselves and didn't flaunt it
Sought forgiveness and didn't persist
Took ownership of it and don't justify it
And acted with excellence after they had erred - Ibn al-Qayyim
