Its good but this pales in comparison to what is produced in North America, sadly so. Also we have to keep in mind the difference between "research in Muslims world" and "research by Muslims." It very well could be that the research being done in Muslim world is being done by closet-atheists and ex-Muslims, or foreign kaafirs (from the West) residing there. I recently saw huge number of them residing in Qatar, Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia involved in such "elite" projects. Its "elite" because vast majority of Muslim laymen living in these countries cannot think beyond earning their daily meal so it is indeed "elite" stuff for them and they are segregated from it.

Scientific innovation in the Muslim world

Help me to escape from this existence
I yearn for an answer... can you help me?
I'm drowning in a sea of abused visions and shattered dreams
    In somnolent illusion... I'm paralyzed

I showed this thread to my friends and made a short discussion with topic "why universities in Indonesia are not on the list ?". And the result was : Because UNI students in Indonesia make protests too much. When UNI students in other countries are busy in their research, UNI students in Indonesia are down to the streets or fields and make protests about everything.
