بعد رحلة أيام طويلة من الولايات المتحدة إلى القدس المحتلة، توجهت الأميركية برتني لين صباح السبت الماضي إلى مقر هيئة العلماء والدعاة المسلمين قرب المسجد الأقصى، وقررت إشهار إسلامها طواعية، ونطقت بالشهادتين بعد التعرف على معناهما.
وحضرت لين (25 عاما) مرتدية غطاء الرأس (الحجاب)، وأكدت أنها لم تتعرض لأي ضغط أو إجبار، وأنها تعرفت على الإسلام في بلادها ودرست مبادئه وأحكامه قبل أن تقرر دخوله، بعد أن كانت تعتنق المسيحية.

وقال للجزيرة نت إن أربعة يهود إسرائيليين أشهروا إسلامهم العام الأخير، وهم يقيمون في القدس بينهم دانييل هورنشتاين، الذي ولد في البلاد لأبوين يهوديين وظل يعتنق اليهودية حتى إشهار إسلامه الشهر الماضي.

وحسب بيانات الهيئة الرسمية، فإن بين من دخلوا الإسلام حديثا خمسة بريطانيين وأميركيان قال الشيخ عكرمة إنهم حضروا بعد أن تعرفوا على الإسلام عبر مراكز إسلامية في بلادهم.
وسجلت الهيئة إسلام أجانب من جنسيات فرنسية وألمانية وروسية وأسكتلندية وحالة أخرى لفلسطيني مسيحي.

وحسب الشيخ عكرمة، فإن القائمين على الباب يتأكدون أولا من أن الراغب في إعلان إسلامه غير مجبر، ويقدمون له شرحا وافيا عن المبادئ العامة للإسلام، ويزودونه بنشرات دينية وتوعوية.
كما يحصل على شرح لمعنى الشهادتين قبل أن ينطق بهما ثم يطلب منهم النطق بها، ويزود بشهادة تثبت اعتناقه الإسلام.
ويوضح الشيخ عكرمة أن إسلام غير المسلمين يكون غالبا نتيجة التعامل والتعايش مع المسلمين، حيث يلمسون عن قرب سماحة الدين وحب المسلمين لغيرهم.
ويبين عكرمة أن انتشار الإسلام في شرق آسيا وجنوبها -خاصة في ماليزيا وإندونيسيا والصين واليابان- كان نتيجة لنشاط التجار، وهو ما يؤكد أن غير المسلمين يسلمون بمحض رغبتهم تبعا لقوله تعالى "لا إكراه في الدين".
وبين الأجانب الذين أعلنوا إسلامهم عدد ممن عاشوا لفترات مختلفة مع عائلات مقدسية في القدس المحتلة تعرفوا من خلالها على مبادئ الإسلام وسماحته.
وتنظم هيئة العلماء والدعاة في القدس دورات للشباب من كل الديانات والجنسيات، وبينهم السياح والمتضامنون الأجانب لتعريفهم بالإسلام، وخاصة "للرد على الشبهات التي يثيرها أعداء الإسلام"، كما يقول القائمون على النشاط.
