Jassem, an Arab child, entered his classroom on the first day of school in Ohio.
"What is your name?" asked the teacher.
"Jassem".... answered the kid.
"You are in America now. From now on your name will be Johnny," replied the teacher.
In the evening, Jassem returned home. "How was your day, Jassem?" asked his mother.
"My name is not Jassem. I'm in America and now my name is Johnny."
"Ah, are you ashamed of your name, are you trying to dishonor your parents, your heritage? Shame on you!" and she beat him.
Then she called his father and he too beat him.
The next day Jassem returned to school..
When the teacher saw him with all the bruises she asked, "What happened to you little Johnny"?
"Well ma'am, 4 hours after I becoming an American, I was attacked by two Arabs at home."
Oh lord make my best deeds the last deeds
Oh lord make my best day the last day (aakhirah)
I think it's meant to be a joke, and if you work for a large company then a very improper joke. Possibly worth reporting if it bugs you. Not worth trying to insult them back.
lol this joke is not giving a positive image of Americans either , right ?
hmmm still if need a counter joke ....
A man is taking a walk in Central park in New York. Suddenly he sees a little girl being attacked by a pit bull dog. He runs over and starts fighting with the dog. He succeeds in killing the dog and saving the girl’s life.
A policeman who was watching the scene walks over and says: “You are a hero,” tomorrow you can read it in all the newspapers: “Brave New Yorker saves the life of little girl.” The man says: “But I am not a New Yorker!” “Oh, then it will say in newspapers in the morning: Brave American saves life of little girl” – the policeman answers.
“But I am not an American!” – says the man. “Oh, what are you then?” The man says: “I am a Saudi!” Then next day the newspapers say: “Islamic extremist kills innocent American dog.”
^SubhaanAllaah at the last one, that makes me angry
"Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).".."[Al Qur'aan 3:2]

I would suggest that you take this issue very delicately,if you must you could talk to the worker who originally sent the email and tell how you feel about it.See how the person reacts to that first,if the person just wanted to have fun and joke around, without trying to offend anyone that person could apologize easily without any harm,if not then remain calm, insha'Allaah Allaah will assist you and clear your path.

I agree...

Americans are good at brainwashing. The CIA, FBI and all.
King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who was a great man was assassinated was shot point-blank and killed by his half-brother's son who was brainwashed by the American secret agency CIA.
It was meant to be a joke and really shouldn't be taken all that seriously. I found it kind of amusing... I hadn't heard it before
You have to remember that humor is very important. Without something to balance out all of the serious issues in the world, things get out of hand, so it's important to be able to laugh at yourself every once in a while.
I've heard about the joke.
In my opinion, it does seem to make fun of arabs, but I also think that it actually shows how easily people get brainwashed in the USA and the racist attitude that is prevalent among its population, and takes a swipe at that racist attitude.
It is in similar vein of the second joke about a saudi who saved the girl's life, how public opinions (in USA) is easily formed by the media.

You miss the point completely by thinking about it too much. Its a JOKE. You laugh, and you move on. In fact, obsessing about it, and ultimately making generalities about the intelligence of Americans (and our vulnerabilities to magic brainwashing technology) show that you may not get that.

I know that it IS a JOKE (need I bolden the word?)
In fact, I (sort of) defend the joke, because it is quite incisive in reflecting american psyche.
