    Re: English Nasheeds

Here are a couple that come to mind:

You might also want to look into songs by Ahmed Bukhatir, who does nasheeds in both Arabic and English. (although from what I've heard so far, I prefer his Arabic nasheeds...)

    I hope that helps.

    Re: English Nasheeds

bro and sis plz dont mind my words...i am sorry 4 that.
i dont know what we are doing with islam...............islam is very clear, nothing unclear and ambigious. so music is harammmmmmmmmmm thats all.i am not saying its easy to leave that sin: in my teen ages blv i was alive only on music...BUT plzzzz never think that its ok in islam, either in any form,,,even naaat.
surely music creates nifaq in man......
and if we think its ok in islam it take us 2ward BIDDHA...
now all of us can think how much this niffaq and Bidhha are dangerous.

    As-Salāmu `Alaykum (السلام عليكم):

    Surah Luqman 31:6

    6.
And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e.music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Qur'an) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire).
(Ph.D. & Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan)

    Sahih Bukhari
    Volume 2, Book 15, Number 72:

    Narrated Aisha:

Abu Bakr came to my house while two small Ansari girls were singing beside me the stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. And they were not singers. Abu Bakr said protestingly, "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah's Apostle !" It happened on the 'Id day and Allah's Apostle said, "O Abu Bakr! There is an 'Id for every nation and this is our 'Id."

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 69, Number 494v:

Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari:

that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."

Anasheed (Arabic: singular نشيد Nasheed, plural أناشيد Anaasheed; also spelt Nasyid in Malaysia and Indonesia; ilahi in Turkish; Naat in Pakistan), is Islamic vocal music that is either sung a cappella or accompanied by percussion instruments such as the daff. In general, true Islamic anasheed does not contain lamellaphone instruments, string instruments, or wind and brass instruments, although digital remastering—either to mimic percussion instruments or create overtones—is permitted. This is because many Muslim scholars interpret Islam as prohibiting the use of musical instruments except for some basic percussion. All four sunni schools of thought are in agreement.

Anasheeds are popular throughout the Islamic world. The material and lyrics of anasheed usually make reference to Islamic beliefs, history, and religion, as well as current even.

The use of musical instruments is implicitly prohibited in the Ahadith. The only instrument commonly allowed is the duff, which is a small hand drum, similar in size to a tambourine, but lacking bells.

    Lightbulb Re: English Nasheeds

    As-Salāmu `Alaykum (السلام عليكم):

It is a fact that many Muslims embrace what they label as Nasheeds and really have nothing to do with the promotion of remembering Allah. The so called Nasheeds are only replacing the music they enjoyed and they seek so called Nasheeds that are consistent with the music they are giving up.

Music has cultural implications. If a person was raised with certain music throughout their life only faith in Allah will assist in eliminating it from their routine.

If a Muslim was exposed throughout childhood it is a task depending on how music played a role in their cultural upbringing.

    Surah Ar Rad 13:11

    11. For each (person), there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah.Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah). But when Allah wills a people's punishment, there can be no turning back of it, and they will find besides Him no protector.

How could the works of beethoven or Bach be possibly construed as haram? I'm sorry, but in this case Islam is definitely unclear.

With all respect Islam is not unclear it is you who is unclear (not understanding)
Bro sabr* posted a few hadiths above maybe you should read to get a better understanding....
But from my understanding music can lead one to think/do acts that are haram which is why im trying to stop listening to music because it diverts us from remebering Allah (swt).
Besides classical music makes me so antsy lol

    Re: English Nasheeds

    ^Not just classical Music,music as a whole.

The way a human dances to the beat to some rap music or hip hop or whatever is just disturbing (well for me), reminds me of monkeys going crazy and also its a way to pump a person up and also it takes one away from the remembrance of his lord, a muslim listens to the Quran to put there mind to peace rather than some peace some song can give them, along with many bad lyriced music it just to try to find peace in the song.

Again Classical Music has no benefit to one.

Leme give you an example, If a person listens to music all day, there will be noo way at all theyd ever want to remember their lord, they would pray but not properly but just to get the prayer over and done with. But if one who is high Imaan(faith) they are more like to pray their prayer more sincerly. I would say Music is a tool of satan to lead one astray.

I noticed something when I read your post. I've heard music helps people to deal with stress but nothing more. I think this is one of the reasons why music is haraam. Instead of turning to Allah for help and guidance, we turn to music.

so does anyone have any suggested ENGLISH nasheeds like this ....please
I listened to the first link and it has music so that doesn't make it a nasheed because nasheed doesn't have music.

Okay have you tried to listen to Zain Bhika? his nasheeds are good:
check this one, one of my favorite
