The niqab? come on guys not that many women wear it anyway - its just the media and politics - the vast majority of muslim women in the west dont wear it.

Took ownership of it and don't justify it

JazakAllah Khayr for posting. I admire the 3 sisters for going on national TV to explain why they have adopted niqaab . May they be rewarded for their courage in doing this and for their devotion. I think it is very helpful to explain to the non-believers about the concept of modesty and why covering the face is recommended in Islam. It is seen by some as intimidating when in fact all they are trying to do is please Allah subhana wa ta'alaa by following His guidance.
Watching this video has got me thinking hard about adopting niqaab myself insha'allah, especially as Ramadhan approaches....
I often think that we should do a great deal more like this to try to explain Islam to the non-believers. In my experience, every time we make the effort to carefully explain some of the more "controversial" aspects of Islam (like niqaab, hudud punishments, polygamy, etc) we are pleasantly surprised at the amount of understanding and acceptance that we get, alhumdulullah.
