    Question

    Report bad ads?

I sometimes see Arabic words (wriiten in Roman letters) written with the numbers 7 and 3? Can't think of any off hand, but how are we supposed to pronounce them?

    Re: Question

I think one of them signifies 'ain (vocal with nasal).

    Re: Question

    AsSalaamu 3alaykum,

Some of the numbers represent the arabic alphabet. Here's a few:

    2 is hamza
    3 is 'eyn
    7 is -'haa
    9 is 'qaf

    Re: Question

No..for example.. It would be written as: assalamu 3alaikum wara7matullahi wabarakatuh' or for Qur'aan you would right 9ur'aan.

Abu Jahl isn't with a 'haa (guttural sound from the throat) hence it will not be written as Abu Ja7l

    It's explained here in detail : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_chat_alphabet
