    Exclamation Post-Surgery Cat Experience

    Report bad ads?

    Asalamu Alaykum
Has anyone here had a pet whose had a hernia? Or any redness in their stomach towards the nipple area? (Female cats)
Or has had any experience with any redness post surgery?
Im really worried about her, but wont be able to take her to the vet at the moment. I also wanted to gather some information beforehand.
    Please respond quickly.

    Re: Post-Surgery Cat Experience

I take it that you had your cat Spayed which is a very safe surgery; however, complications can occur.

Minimal redness and swelling should resolve within several days. If it persists longer, please contact your vet. Please contact a vet immediately if you notice any of the following: pale gums, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, discharge or bleeding from the incision, difficulty urinating, and/or labored breathing.

. If your female cat was in heat (estrus) at the time of surgery, you must keep them away from un-neutered males for at least two weeks. If a male tries to mate with her, serious bleeding and trauma to the reproductive tract may occur, possibly leading to death.

. If you have any questions or concerns directly related to the surgery during the recovery time period, please do not hesitate to contact the veterinarian who performed the surgery.

Make sure you follow the directions that the vet you used gave you.
