Observing Jumu'ah(Friday) salat in the morning

    Report bad ads?

A group of people started observing salatul Jumu'ah (Friday Prayer) in the morning in Ibadan, Nigeria. They backed it up with hadith and claimed that it is Sunnah. They also observe it putting on shoes.

This has generated lots of controversies and confusions among Muslims in the country because, so many muslims now support this and want to be joinning them. Most of our Scholars condemned it and even asked them to stop.

Is this a Sunnah that we should follow or not? And what should we do in this situation? Can you please give us evidence to convince people of this act or against it?

Re: Observing Jumu'ah(Friday) salat in the morning

    Assalamualaikum.

There is a movement which called "back to Qur'an and sunnah". Sound good, but actually this movement is based on assumption that what we do now in ibadah are not really same like like how the Salaf performed ibadah. Indeed, this is the extreme form of Salafi movement.

The principle of their "back to Qur'an and sunnah" movement is rejecting the fiqh that followed by Muslims nowaday, and 're-digging' Qur'an and hadith to rediscover the correct way of performing ibadah. They use their own interpretation of course.

This movement is not centralized, but launched by many groups that have same principle although not related to each other. Performing salah Jumu'ah in the morning is one result of this movement. They say this is sunnah and based on hadith, don't they?.

Their popular argument is "How do you know that you perform ibadah correctly if you just believe what your ulama teach you without you look at Qur'an and hadith?". They assume that how we perform ibadah are different than how Salah perform ibadah, and they believe they perform ibadah same as like Salaf. So, bro, you can argue them with "How can you sure that you perform ibadah same as like the Salaf did if you never met the Salaf-us Shalih?"
