Habib bin Abi Thaabit narrated that Ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) went out one day and some people started following him. He noticed them and asked them,
ألكم حاجة؟
“Do you need anything from me?” They said,
لا, ولكننا نريد أن نسير معك
“No, but we love walking with you.” Ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said,
ارجعوا فإن ذلك ذلة للتابع وفتنة للمتبوع
“Go away! This is a humiliation for the follower and a trial for the one who is being followed.”
- Quoted by Ibn Jawzi in 'Sifat as-Safwah' (The Characteristics of the Most Excellent), page 156
Whether you're a celeb or not we all interact with few or many people so we should always be conscious of our actions and words.
Also, it’s important not to follow people blindly and to always go back to the original source. In sha Allah.
Pain and hardships allow you to grow spiritually Alhamdulilah so smile when a so called calamity befalls upon you.
Alhamdulilah Allah swt is the greatest.
Words very essential these days when fame is sought by so many.
Bishr ibn Al-Haarith said: The (person) that loves fame has not feared Allaah. He also said: Don’t act in order to be mentioned, and hide your good deeds like you hide your bad ones. (As-Siyar: 10/476)
Abdus Samad ibn Abdil Waarith said: Hawshab would cry and say: My name has reached the Masjid Al-Jaami
Hamdoon Al-Qassaar was asked: “Why is the speech of the Salaf more beneficial than ours? He replied: This is because they spoke to give ascendancy to Islam and to please The Most Merciful; whereas we speak to give ascendancy to ourselves, to seek after the worldly life and please the creation. (Safwatus Safwah: 2/122)
A person who has never won an Oscar, wears a tux and holds a fake Oscar while going around town to see the response. Everyone does the typical celebrity following without ever having heard of him and even lying about his non-existing movie. Oh, and he gets a free movie ticket, food, and a car.
It has been narrated on the authority of 'Arfaja who said:
I have heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Different evils will make their appearance in the near future. Anyone who tries to disrupt the affairs of this Umma while they are united you should strike him with the sword whoever he be.
