The following are NOT preventions of Takfīr, despite the fact some individuals may believe that they are;


• Being famous or well known
• Having a lot of knowledge
• Authoring a lot of books
• Having a long beard
• Speaking fluent Arabic
• Having Tazkiyyah from well known 'Ulamā
• Having Ijāzah in reciting the Qur'ān
• Being a Hāfidh of the Qur'ān
• Memorising Sahīh al-Bukhāri & Muslim
• Memorising many classical texts of 'Aqīdah
• Knowing a lot of poetry
• Performing Salah
• Performing Siyām
• Performing Hajj
• Giving a lot of wealth in charity
• Being a Mujāhid


We must always try to speak and act based upon divine text, the Kitāb and the Sunnah, and not based on our emotions or our desires.


Allāh تعالى mentions;


وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ


And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad) as it was to those (Allāh's Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allāh (i.e. commit Shirk), (then) surely ALL your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."


[Sūrah al-Zumar Āyah 65]
