Imam Zain ul Abideen – May ALLAH The Almighty be pleased with him was the great grandson of Prophet MUHAMMAD (Peace be upon Him). He was famous for his piety, knowledge, generosity etc. A poor family with many children lived not far from Zain ul Abideen. The family had many financial problems, but soon they started to receive anonymous food baskets at their doorstep. They used to get the food baskets so regularly that they started to rely on those baskets. Ibn e Ishaq – Radi ALLAHu anhu said that many families of Medina used to receive the food baskets in the same way.
But when Imam Zain ul Abideen passed away, people stopped receiving the food items and hence they realized that it was Him who used to send them the food. When Zainul Abideen was prepared for burial, dark scars were observed on his body. These scars were the result of his never ending haul of baskets and flour sacks that he used to carry during the night for the poor families.
May ALLAH The Almighty be pleased with Imam Zainul Abideen and help us to follow his footsteps.
