And he also narrated from Abu Hurayrah [radhiyallahu 'anhu] that the Messenger of Allah [sallallahu 'alayhi wa-sallam] said: "The Hour will not come until the Romans camp at al-A'maq or Dabiq. An army from al-Madinah, from the best of the people on earth on that day, will go out to face them. When they have lined up their ranks for battle, the Romans will say: "Do not stand between us and those who were taken from us as prisoners, let us fight them." So the Muslims will say: "No, by Allah, we will never abandon our brothers to you." So they will fight them, and one third of them [i.e. the Muslims] will flee, and Allah will never forgive them. One third will be killed, and they will be the best martyrs in Allah's sight. And one third will be victorious, and they will never again be subjected to trials. They will conquer Constantinople, and while they are distributing the spoils, having hung their swords on the olive-trees, the Shaytan will call out to them: "The Masih has taken your places among your families!"
