I visited Bosnia in 2007 and barely anyone was wearing hijab. Now almost everyone is wearing hijab and a lot of women are wearing niqab and burqa. I am so happy for them. There is now so much about Islam on Bosnian television too. What do you my brothers and sisters think about this?
Your thread has two parts to answer. First part is, yes there is a rise in Islamic awarrness in Bosnia. They were mentally collonised by the communism in Yugoslav era and was away from Islam. Now they are turning back to their Islamic roots with the help of world wide Islamic influance. This applies to many Muslim people not only them. You can observe a similar procces in Turkey too. There is also a rise of Islam in nonmuslim lands for example. But I am not sure whether majority of women are hijabi and even there are women with niqab and burqa over there. Burqa is totally a foreign dress for bosnia.
Second part is, why the percaantage of hijabi clothes of women are your criteria of deciding whether a place is more Islamic or not? Islam is not such a shallow religion. What if all those women wearing hijab niqab burqa etc are commiting several other sisns? Have you also made an observation against that? And men..How is their situation?

Isn't that kind of an obvious answer? No one can sit there and assume things about other people because of "what ifs". I don't know the current situation in Bosnia but, if Islam is on the rise there, why see the negative in that rather than the positive?

I don't see any negativity in Bosnia. I quite like that country and people. I question the thinking style of the OP regarding to decide whether Islam is on rise or not in a place based on the number of women with hijab only. The title is "Islam is on rise in Bosnia" and the given reason is all about hijab and some TV programs. Even her assertion is not accurate. The number of women with hijab is not a majority in Bosnia and you can rarely find niqab or burqa. Do you understand?

Unnecessary doubts about other Muslims is prohibited in Islam.

I visited again in 2015. I was in city of Zenica and there were several niqabis in the flea maket. A lot of men were with beards too. The brothers seem to be practising Muslims and they were selling things on the flea market

There are not so many sins you can commit in Bosnia. The meat is halal, there is not a lot of riba or usury, etc...

You misunderstood me. To summarize what I said, it was to state that your post made it seem like you were pessimistic about the situation. Not whether or not you liked Bosnia and it's people. I don't know what's going on in Bosnia except for what I just read here. If the appearance of people getting closer to the religion is increasing as stated in the OP, that would be a good thing in my opinion. Instead of seeing it that way, you seem to question the motives and/or whether or not these people are sinning .

Islam has lots of elements to be implemented in one's personal and society's life. So showing only the number of hijabis (and I even have questions regarding the actual percantage and I have big doubts if there are even women with burqa in Bosnia since burqa is an Afghani and an alien dress for Bosnia) for the rise of Islam would be just a shallow argument.
This hijab issue is now a matter of show here in Turkey. Some women just wear it to appeare more "Islamic" to have more privilege since the government is Islamic for the last 15 years.

Burqa is when one covers eyes and hands. There is a lot of niqabis and ones that wear burqa in Bosnia because of increase of Salafiyyah, Deobandis, etc..

I never really knew too many Bosnians growing up (or people from former Yugoslavia even) and the ones I did all came from non religious families (myself included) so I always assumed the country was overwhelmingly irreligious, especially with the history of socialism and 90s wars.
Had the chance to spend all of last year there and it was awesome.
Coming from a small town I always assumed the local mosque would be relatively empty except for a few elders. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the case.
Even in Croatia, mostly a Catholic country, there was a decent sized Muslim community (and a really nice mosque in the capital). They took in some Syrian refugees and they were integrating into the Croatian culture nicely it seemed.
The general feeling I got from people there on religion was this: most people definitely consider themselves religious, even if they aren't quite as "practicing" as they should be. They definitely are pretty knowledgeable in the deen if nothing else. And a lot of people know a few surahs by heart. That's more than I expected to be honest.
However, people that are very practicing are greatly respected. The ones that fast during Ramadan, that go to mosque often, women that wear hijabs, etc.
Although, even though it might not be fair, these same people are often criticized MORESO if they do something un-islamic, as they come off hypocritical.
The notion is that "if you're going to be religious, commit fully or don't at all" type of thing.
One thing that did disappoint me (though it's understandable I guess), with all the terrorist attacks in Europe plenty of Muslims are scared to be openly religious. They sometimes get teased, called wahabis and isil and stuff like that. A lot of it comes from ignorance instead of maliciousness though.
But I don't know, that's just what I gathered from my travels there. Perhaps it's different in other parts of the country that I didn't visit. I'm not exactly in the position to be the ambassador of the country despite my username

Well, based on the OPs statement, in the 10 year time gap between the OPs first and second visit, there clearly is a rise in interest in Islam. Islamic TV programs being aired also seems to support this. You can accept it or not it doesn't change the fact. I think the discussion here isn't whether or not Bosnians are good Muslims or not as you seem to imply.
If there are now Islamic TV programs and the appearance that more people are accepting Islam in Bosnia, then say alhamdulillah and leave the rest to Allah. We aren't in a position to sit here and speculate what's going on in one's personal life and try to rank people's faith based on assumptions. You have doubts about people's iman (people you don't know, at that), well quite frankly, that's shallow. I don't know the intentions of Bosnian women or Turkish women, or anywhere else for that matter not do I want to try. If they are doing something wrong, then people should confront them about it. Until then, none of us can judge them.

May the Islamic States of UAE particularly Dubai ,Kuwait, Qatar & the gulf as a whole , once Russian but now Muslim states , Indonesia, Malaysia etc take lesson from them /
Bosnia must arm themselves and Protect their country which is also the order of Allah in the Noble Quran like the hijab to protect women
