I'm guessing to separate one section of the book from another. It depends on how this book is structured. Is that the only place where these three stars are seen?
I'm guessing the text below the stars is for extra clarification, explanation, references, something like that.
In any case, it has no special Islamic meaning. It might as well have been five "+" instead...or "==================="
Oh maybe it's nothing, i was curious because one time i was in san francisco airport there's a christian science reading room. I went in and talk to an old man and i was looking for a book which has prophecies about mankind. I told him i was converted to islam and just wanna read some books. He told me do you know about the 3 stars? I said what's that but there's a lady who interrupt us and acting weird so i went out i didn't get it. And now few months later i bought this book and see this 3 stars. Just goosebumps. Thanks for hearing me out.
