Taken from another forum, may Allah reward the brother who posted this reminder up.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    assalaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaah,

In addition to the recommended fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, it is also encouraged to fast on the Ayyam al-Beed (the 13th, 14th and 15th of each lunar month).

Inshaa’allaah for Rabi al-Awwal 1427, these days fall on:

    13th – Tuesday 11th April
    14th – Wednesday 12th April
    15th – Thursday 13th April

Jareer ibn ‘Abdullaah radhiyallaahu ‘anh narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and ayaam al-beed are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (Narrated by al-Nasaa’i (2420); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, (1040)).

Abu Dharr radhiyallaahu ‘anh said: The Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam said to me: “If you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, (761); al-Nasaa’i, (2424); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, (1038)).

May Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aalaa forgive our sins, and accept from us our efforts.

Lightbulb Fasting 13th , 14th & 15th every month (according to the hijri months)

    White Days

fasting the white days is sunnah ,fasting in general is a great deed , the white days are 13th , 14th & 15th of every hijri month , they are named white days because they are the days you can see the complete moon

insha allah every month I'll edit the following dates to remind my brothers & sisters..this month the white days will start on Friday.

    this month :

    9th , 10th , 11th of june

Abu Tharr Al-Ghefari, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said "O Abu Tharr! if you fast three days of every month, then fast the 13th, the 14th and the 15th".

    jazakum allah kul khair

Re: Fasting 13th , 14th & 15th every month (according to the hijri months)

What exactly does fasting entail in Islam?
I know about the fasting during Ramadan. No food between sunrise and sunset - is that right?
Do the same rules apply for other times of fasting?

    Peace.

Fasting rules are the same for any Day you want to fast

The validity of syam ( fasting) depends on the following:
1- Abstaining from food, liquids and sexual activity from dawn to sunset.
2- Ramadan case: The intention to fast must be made every day before dawn. The intention (niyyah) may be made during night before dawn or before going to sleep.
2'- any day else case: the intention to fast could be made after dawn .

Fasting starts at the break of dawn, which is also the start of the Salatul Fajr time ( Fajr prayer) . Fasting ends at sunset or with the call of Salatul Maghrib ( Maghrib prayer).
