Belief in all the books sent down to His prophets. These books include Torah, Zabur, Injeel (Gospel) and Quran. The Holy Quran is the only divine book in extant today in the original revealed form.
Why are there so many attacks on the Bible here if it is a basic Islamic belief that they are legit?

The Bible is not 'legit' according to Islam. Muslims believe in the original revelations sent to these Prophets. Some fragments of these revelations may still be present in the Bible today, but the only way to seperate between the material of divine origin and that of human fabrications is to use the Qur'an as the criterion.

    Hello POBook,
This is a common Christian confusion. It is true that as Muslims we do not believe that the Bible has been preserved but that it has been tampered with, but this does not mean that there may still be verses in it that contain the truth. The criterion then, for deciding what is true from the Bible and what isn't, is the Qur'an, God's final message to mankind.

Re: Islamic view of the Bible

    Salaam,

In the Quran there is no mention of Bible....we do have the word Gospel in it.

But the reference is toward the Gospel according to Propeht Jesus as..not acording to ordinary men.

So the Bible as a whole is not "legit" ,we muslim accept what is not in contradiction to what is in the Quran,an expaple would be when Jesus said

    The LORD GOD IS ONE..
OR I CNA DO NOTHING WIHOUT GOD

    or many more verses.
