    Halal Earning

    Report bad ads?

I had a question...if someone lied about their previous employment so as to make it appear more favorable for themselves in order to get the current employment, then the earnings from the new job are they halal or haram??

If someone works in a casino as an engineer who has to fix the slot machines then that is haram too right??

please all answers will be appreciated...

Sister I think you should contact a scholar for these issues. You need someone who is an expert. askimam.com is a good site.

Yes. Deception is a sin. As for the earnings - they maybe void of barakah.

If someone works in a casino as an engineer who has to fix the slot machines then that is haram too right??
The gains from that which is haram is also haram. Such work is considered as cooperating in sin.

excerpt rom Dr. Zakir Naik's article:
..Certain jobs are Haram for both men and women.. Working in a casino or a bar is Haram for both men and women.

Jazakallah...I did ask a religious person this question also and they basically gave the same answer as Muslimah_Sis...one thing they said though was that the person who lied to get a job will get the gunah for the lie but if he does his job well and with honesty then that should be ok...but the fact still remains that the job was achieved through unfair means....
