I imagine a place where I could be myself.
Where I don't have to pretend for somebody else.
Where brothers and sisters are everywhere.
A place where the people don't stop and stare.
A place where my heart can feel at ease.
Where I can praise Allah anywhere I please.
A place where the adhan is heard on the street.
Where I could smile and laugh and feel complete.
I wish for a place to rise my kids to be.
Where we could grow as a family.
A wonderful place, that's what this is.
A place where the ummah could happily* live.
I want to leave America; to flee.
I want to live in a muslim country.

It's not always easy living in a place with very little muslim influence. I would like to leave this place someday and find a new place to call my home. Ameen.

Very beautiful poem ^_^. I feel as if many people can relate to this. But remember that patience is key to everything. Personally I come from a small town in Sweden and I haven't really been exposed to hatred (only mild harassment if that exists) and Alhamdulillah I'm chill about it. If they stare who cares! I usually stare back at them. You know to creep them out like real bad. #thedeathstare 😂

Oh, sister
Words touched my heart
come to my country
Where security and safety
And mosques everywhere
