so it's not an animal ==> it's an object
==>and it's used at home.
==>and it has fingers.

well that limits the number of choices. But I still can't find an object with fingers, and of course which can't type...

is it something to eat ? (chocolate fingers if this make sense)

^
Ok i will give some hints:

It's kind of a object, it is mainly used during the winter specially when it snows, its very comfy depending what it is made from. Its also used in certain sports. Hope that helped.

;D I think I know it now lol. are they gloves : they have fingers , and can't type by themselves lol ?

Ok another one but insha allah i will give you the answer tommorow insha allah.

When I sit, I am taller than when I stand. Who I'am ?

salams...

all of you reminded me of my son...everytime he got back from schools he throw at me with lots of 'illogical' riddles... :( :p huhu

Ok, I have one question :

In a party, every guest should handshake all the other guests. We have a total of 28 handshakes, so what is the number of guests we have in the party ?
Brother, your answer to the question is incorrect.

I'll give you a hint. If there was 4 people in the room, each person would handshake 3. Therefore the number of handshakes would be in total 3 x 4.
If there was 5 people in the room, each person would handshake 4. Therefore the number of handshakes in this case would be 4 x 5.

We can now draw a general conclusion that the number of handshakes would be:

a=number of people in the room
b=the number each people would hand shake. Which is a - 1.

The equation we get is a(a - 1)=28
a^2 - a = 28
a^2 - a - 28 = 0

According to the solution formula of quadratic equation, the right answer would be 5.81507... ~ 5/6 people.

NOTE: You said that every guest should handshake all the other guests.

p.s. Please correct me if I used wrong mathematical terms.

No. What you said is true when you repeat the handshake with someone who already handshook you.
Brother ZÂk has clarified it. Thanks zÂk ! :)

May be my wording was confusing, but what I said is (given 4 guests g1, g2, g3, g4) if g1 handshook g2,g3,g4; then g2 will start with g3 and g4, and will not repeat it with g1. So the number of hanshakes will be : 3 (g1) ; and 2(g2); and 1 (g3) (and 0 (g4) ) = 3+2+1.

Now with N guests we will have the number of handshakes :
H = (N-1) + (N-2) + ...+ 2 + 1 =
mimetex-1.cgi
= N*(N-1) / 2.

so if H=28, then N should be 8.

Not really :hmm: Total handshakes will be:
3x4
..2

Which comes to 6. A shakes hands with B and B shakes hands with A doesn't count as 2 diff actions. :ermm: It's a single handshake.

For 28 handshakes, there has to be 8 people. (8 x 7) /2
True, I didn't realize that the same handshake is being repeated.

Jazakumullah zÂk and marwen.

Could it be a dog? Because when it sits its taller than when it stands on all four. Its 'standing' on two doesn't count cuz it cannot do it without support:hiding:

Correct its a dog or a cat. Nice one.

No, there are three light switches. You have to identify which one corresponds to which light bulb in the attic. But you can go upstairs only once....when you reach there you have to correctly point out the bulbs according to their light switches.

i know this is old, but i think you are incorrect. i think its a trick question. if you reread the question, the trick is in the second sentence.

There are three switches downstairs. Each corresponds to one of the three light bulbs in the attic. You can turn the switches on and off and leave them in any position.

How would you identify which switch corresponds to which light bulb, if you are only allowed one trip upstairs?

i.e each (of the 3 light switches) corresponds to (only) one of the three light bulbs in the attic. So in other words although there are three light switches, all of them only really can be used for the one light bulb.

Ok finally my turn sheeesles :-\

Next is:
I drop a book on the floor and I can't jump over it. How can this be?

Ok this 1 is quite a tricky one but its also based on your logic :)
Try your best indeedy and surely for you shall get it!

The one who gets it correct is a PERSON :);D
