How many men does it take to change your light bulb? (this could be a joke on you if you are not careful)

Is there any new questions <that does not involve changing a light bulb> ?

Ok simple one :

A bridge will collapse in 17 minutes.

4 people want to cross it before it will collapse. It is a dark night and there is only one torch between them.

Only two people can cross at a time.

"A" takes a minute to cross.
"B" takes 2 minutes.
"C" takes 5
and "D" takes 10 minutes

How do they all cross before the bridge collapses?

Well, of course, if they're bright enough to know the bridge is going to collapse to the precise minute, they can simply make more torches, take another road, go around, or since "A" is so fast, he can just pick each 1 up n cross the bridge and come back for the others. Of course, if you're boring and looking for the traditional answer: A crosses with each one and comes back for the next which will equate to them all crossing in exactly 17 min.

Here's the toughest of all time lol:
A king was about to hang 3 men for their crimes. There were 3 red hoodies and 2 blue ones. He turned off all the lights and put a red hoody on each while hiding the 2 blue ones. He turned the lights back on and they could see the color of the hoodies the other 2 men were wearing were red but could not see their own. The king said the one of you who is smart enough to know the color of his own hoody may live. How would the smartest among them know the color of their hoody was red?

Here is a tough one that I posted. Either it was overlooked or too tough for anyone to respond. Repost...

i guess you would have to be a perfect logician in this case and reason out some things, or maybe they simply talk to each other and ask what color they were wearing since it doesn't say they could not talk...

if A had to come back for each one, this makes :
A crosses with B : 2 min
A comes back : +1 min
A brings C : +5 min
A comes back : +1 min
A brings D : +10 min

==> this makes 2 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 10 = 19 min

So not correct.

^ why would you think that ? :nervous:

Just a try :

I gess one of the three has to sacrifice, and talk first. His Answer will eventually be : "my hoody is blue", because he sees tow red ones on the other men, that means it remains 1 red and 2 blue --> it's more probable that his one is blue.

He will be killed. And the other 2 men will know that he thought he was blue because he saw them having red hoodies, and thus they know they are red.

(I supposed that the first one considered the probability that 2 blue ones and one red hoody are remaining, and I supposed that the 2 other men are smart)

An useless Addendum:
---------------------

If by chance, the first man said he is red (because he didn't consider the probabilities, or because he knows how the king thinks), then he survives, but this may be more complex for the two others to figure out their colors.
In that case, the second one may say 2 answers :
- - - - - - - 1) the 2nd can say "I'm blue" because, he thinks probably the first man said he is red because one of the 2 others (2nd and 3rd is blue ) (he knows the third is red, so he is the one who might be blue.) so if he considered the probabilities, and asumes that the first man considered the probabilities too, he may give that first answer. and then he is killed.
- - - - - - - - - - - -> In this situation the third man, will know for sure that he is red, he will say : "the second thought he wears blue hoody, because he saw me wearing red one". He may as well try to look smart and ignore the possiblities and say "I'm blue". Because he thinks the answer of the second man was not based on probabilities. In that case he will be killed.
- - - - - - - 2) the second answer of the second man could also be : "I'm red".That's because he also thinks the king is very smart and is messing with them. He will survive.
- - - - - - - - - - - -> In this situation the third man will have two choices/answers : (he can say I'm blue, because, the 2 other men's answers give him not a new information : he knows the 2 others are red, except the new information that may be he is probably blue and that's probably what made the other 2 men think they are red. If he thinks with probabilities he will say "I'm blue" and he is killed. And if he thinks that the king is very malicious he will answer that he wears a red one, and survives.

would it be cheating if I've done this before but with japanese river crossing?

A and B cross together 2 minutes
A returns 2+1 = 3 minutes
C and D cross together 3 + 10 = 13 minutes
B returns 13 + 2 = 15 minutes
A and B cross together 15 + 2 + 17 minutes

what thinks but doest speak, has ears but cant hear, has eyes but cant see and when it jumps it never lands.

ok they can't talk to each other. and yes it's some in depth logic.

Answer these questions instantly.
U can't take ur time,
answer them immediately . Ok?

1:-u are participating in a race.
U overtake the second person.
What position are u in ?

2:-If u overtake the last person, then u are?
