Have you ever come across an ayah in the Qur'an that makes you stop and reflect on life a little differently?
There's this ayah in Surah Al-Baqarah that has always touched my heart:
“But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not.” (Qur'an 2:216)
SubhanAllah, how beautiful is this ayah? Sometimes, we think we know what's best for us, but we cannot see the wisdom behind everything that happens in our lives.
I think this is why I love quoting this ayah so much. It reminds us to keep making dua, praying for the best, and working towards what we want while leaving the outcome to Allah. We might not understand why things happen the way they do, but we can keep trusting His plan and asking Him to guide us towards what is best.
And while we're going through hardships, let's not forget the blessings Allah has already given us. SubhanAllah, even being able to see, breathe, and wake up to another day is such a beautiful blessing. Every new day is another chance to do good, seek His forgiveness, strengthen our relationship with Him, and work towards our Akhirah.
May Allah make us among those who use their time in this world in ways that please Him, grant us patience through our hardships, and help us remain grateful in times of ease and patient in times of difficulty. Ameen.
