It is such a pleasure to be sitting infront of the computer and typing away on Li again afetr a very very long time.
I left Li to help concentrate on my studies and other factors of life. Was it a good idea? Yes, to some extent. I have done well in my college life and am achieveing amazing grades! Attending a non islamic college meant that there was no Islamic atmosphere. To some extent, it was okay because deep down I knew it was Allah's way of saying that I had to keep myself on the right track- 'call it your challenge and get on with it,' I'd say to myself.
Brothers and sisters, we all know. When we take up a challenge, sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. I haven't done any. But, to know that not a single person that I knew believed in God-it made me feel very uncomfortable.
I was once asked: 'how can you say that your religion means peace if you believe that bombing yourself and others around you will take you to heaven?'
The class fell silent and my mouth felt dry. Why am I seen as a villian? I spoke and said: ' My religion is about peace and love. But, what you see on the media and what you are told is what you are expected to believe. My God doesn't believe in killing innocent people around you JUST to get to heaven.
I am looked at as an intelligent, funny and easy to get along with classmate. But deep in the eyes of others...I am not good because of the book and religion I follow.
Brothers and sisters, I made a resolution never to come on this website again. Just to save my studies. It was wrong!
My point is, don't give up your brother and sisterhood 'for studies.' At the end of the day, you you take care of time, it will take care of you. Allah is Ghafoorur Raheem and of you remember Him in your classes and in your duas and everytime you do something. He will remember you!
Maybe my coming back to Li will help me to open the eyes of others and make me among the Siratul Mustaqeem.Ameen.
