Another question regarding the prayers.

Today I have prayed but it is not 100% complete but only 99% complete the daily prayer. When I wanted to pray Afternoon, my Christian sister came, and then she created big problems for me, why? I have no idea and that really pissed me off and that made me to miss the prayer but few minutes or hours later, I have managed to recover the lost prayer. My question is, is this called negligent? Will my prayer still be accepted? And there is parts on the prayer where I mumble, and I don’t understand what I was and I’m afraid that I may say an insult to God or any messenger, and I preferred to say in English where I understand perfectly, but rest, I have said in Arabic where I know perfectly(e.g. Al Fatiha and the Chair) these two I know perfectly, and the problem is that I don’t know how to say in Arabic “The Throne” but I know only in English to say, will my prayer be accepted? Because the only thing I know is “Al Fatiha.” And when the thing in prayer asked me to say Al Fatiha then say any surah, I can say again Al Fatiha? And now, the prayer that I started to pray x5 a day, it started somehow to become as a habit to me, and I have made a program and that is, only when I have only free time then I can perform the daily prayers.

If I do this, then there’s no problem? Because I have other things to do(e.g. studying for the simulation exam) which I have the first simulation on 13-3-2018 and it is math simulation and then at 14-3-2018 I think it starts the last part of simulation exam which is Romanian language, and the simulation exam starts somewhere in March, and I have a lot to learn many poems which I have lost it and many novels and things I have lost in past to recover it and I have also to learn too much math. The time is pressurizing me and I have no time, the time is running fast as the waterfall. Am I neglecting the prayer by doing this? Is this excuse acceptable? Because, after the simulation exam is finished, I can relax and perform the prayers again. Is there any Du’a so that I can make the prayer be as my habit and to perform it perfectly? Because, ai want to pray perfectly without stop and continue do the prayers till the end. Because, my intention is to pray perfectly as prophet Muhammad did this is my wish. Oh, and is this app from the middle also good app to start praying?

No that is a du'a that is recited between the two sujud (prostrations). It is sunnah but not obligatory according to the majority of scholars.


It is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) also used to say between the two prostrations: “Allaahumma ighfir li warhamni wajburni warfa‘ni wahdini wa ‘aafini warzuqni (O Allaah, forgive me, have mercy on me, console me, raise me in status, guide me, grant me well being and grant me provision).”


At-Tirmidhi (284) narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say between the two prostrations: “Allaahumma ighfir li warhamni wajburni wahdini warzuqni (O Allaah, forgive me, have mercy on me, console me, guide me, and grant me provision).”

I understood from this that you probably are a revert. So to give you a brief answer: prayers are a pillars of Islam (as you know), and nothing can be more important than it. We are all busy with dunya but in order to succeed in this life and in the next we have to pray. You see prayer as something that takes time away from your studying but it can actually be beneficial even for it. Ask Allah while in sujood to help you remember and succeed in whatever task you need to complete, it will make it easier for you! I understand that it is hard for you to pray on time because of your non muslim family! If you don't feel comfortable telling them openly for the moment, try to think about a solution and ask Allah to help you to pray on time! It will get easier in sha Allah! You only have to put a bit of effort and sincerity and Allah will help you in sha Allah. So pray every day, no matter if you have exams or work to do.

You can read the part of Arabic that you still don't know cause it will be easy to memorize if you repeat for every prayer everyday, you won't even need to study! Don't worry about getting it wrong cause Allah knows what you want to say!

Our beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who is skilled in reciting Qur’an will be with the noble, honourable scribes and the one who recites Qur’an and falters therein, and finds it difficult, will have a double reward.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (4937) and Muslim (798).
Also, about this, An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"The one who falters is the one who stumbles in his recitation because of his poor memorisation. He will have a double reward: the reward for reciting and the reward for faltering in his recitation and the difficulty he encounters."

So do not worry. Make the prayer something you love, a conversation with your Creator!
(The last third of the night is the one you talk about, yes, but it's the time before fajr! Only pray the voluntary prayers after you prayed all - or intend to pray - 5 times that day)

And for the du'a you can use your first language, maybe in sha Allah one day you will learn some by heart or learn Arabic and then you'll be able to say it in Arabic. Please, don’t write into my book of deeds that I will not pray, because I will indeed pray start from the weekend to pray and even after weekend I will pray, please O Allah, You have my word that I will start praying” is this ok? Or this Du’a is definitely rejected? Please don’t get me wrong. Because, I suppose also when you make Du’a you need to have a good intention for it. Right?

There is no excuse to abandon the prayer unless your are mentally insane then the pen is lifted and your deeds are not recorded. You could become paralyzed from the neck down and still you would have to make the prayer using your eyes for ruku and sujuud.

I am no one to say which du'as Allah accepts or not, but you can't avoid praying and expect for it not to be written as a sin. The prophet sallAllahu 3alayhi wassalam and the companions raddiAllahu 3anhoum used to fight in wars and still they found the time to pray, so we can't find excuses when all we do is go to school or work. I don't get you wrong nor I'm judging you, don't worry; asking questions it's always good!

So during the war prophet Muhammad still prayed? That really encouraged me to pray. But if some students in my class will see me that I’m praying, then I simply ignore them whatever they do to me? Because, I have experienced in my past horrible things and now I say 1 million times thanx to God that He opened for me many doors and now I maybe no longer experience again horrible things and so on, that they mocked me by making a video about me even if I ignore them and that I really hate that I’ve been posted on YouTube without my permission and lucky I have a best atheist friend who helped me by removing the video from YouTube and I did not even asked him to help me, and it happened without me to expect and now it is removed and all thanx to God who closed for me the doors of horror and opened for me the doors of peace. And I have learned from my past that sometimes I have to be bad with others in order to survive in bad situations. If I’m been filmed while I am praying, then at the end I can simply tell to the teacher? Or I should ignore it? Is there a strong Dua that will make others from my class become true Muslims in short time? Because, I wish I can pray in class the obligatory prayers with other students so that I won’t feel alone, of course I don’t feel alone because God is watching me but I need also others from my class to be Muslims so that we all can pray together.

Honestly I suggest you to not pray directly in front of them, but to ask teachers or the director of the school if you can have a space for it (maybe they can let you pray for the 5/10 minutes that it takes in the office of a teacher or in the secretary's office etc.)! Just make the effort to ask and you will be surprised by how Allah makes it easy for you. I don't know how school works in your country but if you have breaks between lessons you might be able to pray in those times (cause as I reminded you before, your prayer is on time till the start of the following one! with the exception of fajr - until the sunrise - and isha - until the middle of the night -. Some argue about maghreb too, but I imagine dhuhr and asr are the ones you might have to pray in school ), so you don't have to leave a class. You can also explain that you desire to have privacy because of the behavior of your classmates, cause it's wrong and teachers should prevent that from happening. May Allah protect you!

You have a lot of questions to which I can't answer cause it's things we don't know as human beings, so I am sorry about that. I don't know what will happen but I can suggest you to put your trust in Allah and make the first steps. Remember that everyday there are muslims out there that make du'a for the entire ummah, so they are making du'a for you too. Things will get easier with time in sha Allah. You need to find ways in order to make them work with the means you have. If you speak to your teachers in a respectful manner, making sure to explain that you are only asking to have your rights (obviously in some countries things are different, but generally people are allowed to practice their own faith, especially if they are doing nothing wrong to harm people) and that you don't want to cause problems to them, they will understand in sha Allah and help you. You can always ask someone if they can tell you what the teacher said during the break, or the teacher will repeat it in sha Allah. If it is a break the students are allowed to leave the class, so it is not to be expected of them to stay seated. It's not easy and trust me, I know it well, you have to get really creative sometimes to be able to get everything done. But you can do it! Don't stress over it.

The last thing. Is that true that a Muslim can make a wish anytime even before the prayer? And if a Muslim has a wish to make but he does not know how to find the words exactly but he has something in mind but does not know how to explain it, will the Du’a still get answered just as this Muslim asked for even though this Muslim did not know how to explain it? Does the Du’a has to be made in a clear way? Or this is not necessary? You could ask to be given the words to express what you want to ask, otherwise make a du'a saying explicitly that you don't know how to express what you desire but you are asking for it (since Allah knows what is in your heart, He will be able to know what you desire). I didn't 100% understood what you ask about the Hereafter, but it is true that a person could be punished for a while before being entered into Paradise. We don't even have certainty about the si ci of our hearts, so you should ask to be sincere, detached from the material things/illusions of this world and you should ask to be protected even just from seeing Hell or smelling it.
Remember that balance it's always needed, Allah is the most severe in punishment but He also is the Most Merciful.

And my sister said to her: “please, also Muslims do pray to the same God as Christians do”And that disturbed me a lot because it is not true, because my father would never pray to another god but to Allah, and I also pray to only one true God, The Creator. It seems like I have to keep the picture that I have with me as a memory of when I was baby with force so that they would not consider me as someone who don’t think well. I don’t know if the angels of mercy would enter in my room in my situation. And my mother asked me to do the homie work because there’s no time, and ai shared with her a true story that you shared with me, and that is, thousands of years ago, Muhammad and others during their battles have found time to pray and that encouraged me to pray in aIl the time and I said to her that prayers are the most important and nothing is important like prayers, and she told me: “Yes, but that time was different situation but now the teacher is here and you must be prepared because you don’t know when she’ll come to you and you can recover it when she finished teaching you math” then I felt like she is right and when I went in my room, I said to myself: “no, why should I listen to someone who wants me not to pray? I won’t listen to her, I wanna make God be happy at me” and then I ask God To grant me some time to finish my prayer fast and it happened. And my Christian mother sat beside me helping me to solve my math homework, and I said: “Mom, I did not make up rules, this was told by angel Gabriel that angels don’t enter a house where there’s pictures” because she was angry with me and I know the reason. And she told me: “Stupid kid(out of anger), that is because you don’t understand what others try to tell you and that is because you stay a lot on telephone than reading, and what he(angel Gabriel) meant is they don’t enter a holy place where there are pictures and they are worshiped, do you think long time ago they had pictures as today?” And I said: “well, uhh, no they had portraits and statues that time” and she said: “exactly: he meant that it is haram only to take an image as something for worship but if you do not worship that image, then it is ok to have it, parents do love their children and that’s why they keep photos with they children as memory, tomorrow I’m gonna take the telephone from you, because you are not correct in head” it seems that I’m forced to keep it.

Today I have discovered that it is haram to pray on chair, and now when I want to see if I have any problem with bowing as in masjid, then I started to feel humiliation and shame again, is this normal to have this feeling? Because, usually I do praying on chair by standing up and then bow down by putting your head down on chair because I have done backbone surgery. So my question is, my prayers have been accepted even if I did not know but still prayed? And If I have done backbone surgery and still I’m in recovery, then I can pray on chair if I want to? What kind of illness does not allow you to make ruku or prostration but to pray on chair? Can you give me few examples? Because, I don’t understand, I have found that if you cannot because if illness and so on then you can sit and pray. Can you give few examples what kind of illness does not allow you do pray without a chair? And I can do prayers in private if I want to? Because, I feel comfortable when I pray alone in room and I feel disturbed when someone enters my room while praying. Because, I want to pray to God in private.

Praying in the chair is not haram. Allah says in the Quran to stand for prayer. But if there are circumstances that makes it hard to do so, such as an injury, then it's acceptable to do what makes it possible for one to do their prayers. You will see chairs in the masjid all the time for the elderly who can't do all the positions completely. You can pray alone in your room if you want, prayer however is not something private. Best place for women is in her room where she can have the most privacy and best place for a man is in the masjid with the community.

As revert mentioned, it's best you reach out to your local masjid and ask if you can come in and talk to an imam about all these questions you have and also if can find a bro who wouldn't mind being a mentor and go to person for your questions and concerns.
