assalamu alaikum rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Hope you are all well. May Allah grant you good health, ameen.

Any deaf or hearing impaired muslims out there?

JazakAllah Khair.

Assalam o Alaikum Brother,

Hope you are doing well.

I found two videos the very first one is about a deaf & dumb Muslim woman, link below:

https://youtu.be/wluXKAo5ZGQ

Second video is about the sign language for those who are deaf and want to read and understand Quran:
https://youtu.be/d36DPtTxM48

The website they mentioned in the video for deaf Muslims is below:
https://globaldeaf-----------/

Another very inspirational video of a young brother who is blind:
https://youtu.be/mAGoHxMbYw0

These videos made me cry. We are so blessed with ability to see, listen and speak but Islam is not in our hearts. We don't value the blessings of Allah and if we want to know the value of these blessings then we need to look at those who love Islam and Quran even when they can't hear, even when they can't speak and even when they can't see; but Allah is in their hearts. They may not hear, see or speak in this world but in hereafter they will have every thing if they have a sound heart. On the contrary who forgets Allah will be raised as deaf, dumb and blind on the day of Judgement. Quran says:

And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?"
[ Allah ] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten." [Quran 20:124-126]

I did not watch the videos but I will watch in sha Allah.

I don't have good sign language skill nor speaking. My communication mode is texting only. It can be writing on notebook or through phone. Alhamdulillah I am still literate and have good English which enabled me to understand by will of Allah. Glory be to Him.

Do you know any deaf muslims or disabled? Have you communicated with them yet? Do you use sign language?

JazakAllah khair

Since I have speaking issue,

In dikhr, if I always pronounce wrong but in my heart it is clear and also reflected its words. Will it be accepted by Allah? Though speaking issue can be solved by learning how to pronounce words. But I am unwilling to do It. May Allah forgive me.

Same goes for durood aswell,

What is your thought?

My dear brother,

Allah knows your condition and He does not burden anyone beyond their capacity. Do the best you can and He will inshallah accept it from you.

Waleykum Salam, I’m deaf too. :)

I was born with a severe sensorineural hearing loss in both ears so I wear hearing aids.

Assalam o alaikum rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

It seems like I am not alone. Welcome, my deaf brother

How are you? May Allah grant you good health, knowledge and patience to bear your hardship

JazakAllah khair

Walaikumasalaam

What is it you are struggling with?

Or are you wanting to discuss your experiences or get advice from people who live with this condition?

Is there anything we can help you with insha Allah?

May Allah swt make it easy for you Ameen.

Assalam o Alaikum rahamutullahi barakatuhu.

right now i don't need advice. I want to know the struggle of deaf muslim, and their life. how they live according to Allah's order, how they take care of themselves, doing what is good and avoiding what is bad. As deaf, i don't have good sign language nor speaking. My commuination mode is writing only. Either it be texting on phone or other social media apps like Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp etc.

Do you know any deaf muslims? What was their experience? Do they use sign language, what do they think about their deafness? you could also tell me other about disabled people,

About deafness, I feel that it is not really serious disable. there are many succesful people, who were disabled, blind or deaf. they just need special care.

I feel insha Allah you will benefit from whatsapp broadcast by sheikh Dawood Seedat.

Add this number +447719374320 and insha Allah you will get daily islamic reminders on whatsapp, audio and inspiring quotes.

I have another group dedicated to the life and history of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w but i am not sure if this group is full. Please give it a try. https://chat.whatsapp.com/FspMEWMdMhzLOUHqNSxtSv If it is full let me know i will find another link as there are 5 groups set up i believe with many whatsapp subscribers.

I am sorry i don't know any individuals who are deaf. I know people who are slightly deaf and when i speak to them which is on a regular basis i have to repeat myself.

One of my close relations lives with a disability called schizophrenia so i do understand the stigma, confusion, ignorance, labelling etc that comes with disability. The good news is you have the power to either allow your deafness define you or you can give importance to other social markers such as age, race, gender etc. The truth is all these markers define us as human beings. Even though yes disability shapes your choices and who you are able to interact with etc. i believe there is always a way. We just need to find that way to reach our end goal insha Allah.

This is a powerful story which will make you reflect...

Assalam o Alaikum rahamutullahi barakatuhu

I watched some video about Robert Davila, long time ago. thought i have not known his whole story now.

Robert davila is really blessed man. Likewise, he is blessed by Allah, to be follower of true path, that is Islam.. May Allah bless him with good health, grant him Firdaus, protect him from punishment of Hellfire and grave. May He forgive him and have mercy on him.. Ameen. There may be more disabled muslims, Allah knows best. Normal people who are blessed with ability of hearing, sight, walking, using two hands, etc, should learn lesson from them, in sha Allah..

JazakAllah khair.

Becsuse I use English only. And due to my communication mode. It is not easy, I dont bring my phone outside as I dont like showing off. Even if it is not intention to do that

What is your thoughts? I do talk to my family lot.

Do you think having social life is important? I did play sport with a group long time ago but then I stopped, and felt shy to play with them again

Depends on the calibre of friends you associate with. If they are practising associate with them because they will guide you and introduce you to islamic circles/events etc. However if you feel you do not need friends and you may waste your time then utilise your time wisely.

Take Allah as your friend The Most Kind. Trust me on this you will never be disappointed. Subhana Allah.

If you spend time alone you reflect more on yourself and you can also build your character and self awareness which is very important. Know yourself. Work on your weaknesses. Know your strenghts. May Allah keep you protected Ameen.

As Salaamu Alaykum,

We wanted to bring to your attention a course that we're running in the December holidays.

It is our 7th annual course. We shall be going through the full English translation of the Qur'an and also will have a person who will sign (British Sign Language) the translation.

There shall also be other deaf muslim brothers and sisters in attendance.

If there is anyone else that you know that could benefit from this course then please make them aware of it.

If you have any further questions then please reply to this thread or send me a private message.
