about hays:

'My mother, Umm Sulaym, prepared “hays” and I put it in a pot and took it to the Messenger of Allah and he said, “Put it down and invite so-and-so and so-and-so for me and whomever you meet.


”

hays حيس is (dates cooked with butter)

حيس - أي طعام يتخذ من التمر والأقط والسمن


though it is not a common food in my country,Egypt

but sometimes I make it .


I buy some morbid dates and put it in the pan and put little water on it and wait 3 minutes for cooking then put 3 eggs and cook it another 2 minutes and finally put some buffalo butter after I turn off the fire..



seems to be strange formula but I find it nice especially in winter and needs high energy food....
