Arrogance....
As i stand there, i wonder what have i done to be here!
I was the one you know, all popular and that, i was kool and square..
I was so happy unlike now, i had the cars, girls would look twice, thrice it was all funs
People told me to change, but they were the ugly borin ones
I feel so hot, i want to take my shirt off like i used to
i prayed most jummahs, but most times i was busy wit my crew
i hated those, who said everytin i did was haraam,
gosh they were so jealous, all they needed was a chill pill and needed to be calm!
Now as they move we forward, i remember my great life
I had the looks so what if i weren’t faithful to my wife,
It was good she went, parents forced her on me, she always buggin me to pray
And tellin me im not a good muslim, day and day
Im sweatin man, i cant see any way
I can see people i know, they must think i look so gay
I know him he was always sayin how he prayed, fasted, some said he showed off, i dont care he seemed good
As long hope he dont see me, otherwise down goes my rep in the hood
I want to scream out, its so freekin steamin
Why cant i jus go back to them days, when i had the music creamin
I had the money, everyone was bein like me, they jus dreamin
But this place is so hot man im fumin!
Right ive had enough of this place, “im goin, switchin lanes”
But they wont let me, they hav tied me with chains
what have i done, the more i struggle they take me higher
i realise my mistakes, but they sayin “too late”, as they throw me in the fire!
i know its get crap, but we aint all perfect
It was narrated from Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (ra) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: No one who has an atoms-weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.
