Thanks again everyone, but I think I'm leaving Islam so I'm sorry for getting in your hair and leaving so quickly.

Your are welcome sister...

But could you kindly state your reasons, perhaps members can answer/advice God willingly..

I don't think I can reconcile it with my views on homosexuality, in particular with my sister. I'd just be living a lie.

Islam's views on the matter are final and there's no compulsion in religion. It is a matter of what you desire most and love most for one is always renderd with what they love. There were those who endured having their wives killed in front of them and they left in the desert sun and branded like animals to renounce their faith and they didn't and there are others who choose what satan beautifies to them of worldly lure. God gave us free will.. I certainly wish you luck with your choice and decision maybe it is for the best you found out early as this religion and the Quran are the criterion and will cause a great divide..

best,

Thank you ßlµêßêll, you are very kind in your words. I'm not mad at you guys, you guys did me a service kicking me in the pants and making me see reality.

I don't believe I have said anything offensive to you and you're welcome to point out to me where I have done so.. in fact I'd go so far to say you'd directed the most insults to me. I however, can't modulate Islam to suit your personal feelings. As I said it comes down with what you want most. And I don't believe that you'll find the views any different in Judaism or Christianity..
It isn't ideal obviously that a new Muslim is turned off so quickly but I think for what it is worth that it is better to find out early where you stand as Islam is a complete way of life and not something for saturday or sunday or mere holidays..

I sincerely wish you the best with whatever path you choose..

No no no, you haven't offended me in the least. That's not what I meant. You've just given me a rude awakening and I thank you for not. I am embarrassed honestly for making this decision and for wasting your guys time, but still, thank you very much.

My family is jewish ethnically but we're atheist all pretty much now. I guess I'll just go back to that.

To be honest that's what I'm used too. This may seem pathetic, but I couldn't probably take a full committment anyway.

And I wish you all luck too, I have no hard feelings towards you.

I don't think you've wasted anyone's time I think you're the one who made the most time investment. It is obviously a sad thin when someone swings in and out of religion but maybe it just means if/when you reflect on your choices that you'll either come back with unwavering resolve or decide this isn't for you and Islam is a life long commitment where our faith wavers, takes shapes and forms, sometimes deep, sometimes superficial.. sometimes superficial of deep or deep of superficial however through the thick and thin of it, faith should be strong and unwavering at the very core.. so take this time to think of what brought you to Islam and if it is worth having a paradigm shift for..

True, I've wasted months of time and energy I could have used on something else. But still I feel bad getting in you peoples hair.

Actually your brief presence is very beneficial to us.

It is a kick in the pants for most of us, in that we realize that we have been very very fortunate that we are still able to hold on to our deen and faith while others waver in and out of faith. It is a blessings from Allah that even if we spend eternal life thanking Allah, it will never be enough.

So thank you actually, you have opened our eyes how fragile eeman can be and how shallow we all can be, this hopefully will make us stronger in our eeman.

Any time spend on Islam is never a waste of energy or time. I hope you re-evaluate your decision.

Glad I could help I guess.

Is it possible to have my user name deleted, possibly all my post too? I caused way too much drama and would like to be free from it and to free you guys from it. Thanks.

Soraya what attracted you to Islam in the first place? I would like to know if you dont mind.

Why don't you sleep on tonight? Everything will be clean and better in the morning insha'Allah..
Don't make any decisions out of emotions whether embracing something, leaving something or even how you view the members here... people are impassioned where ever you go.. so take it easy Soraya..

peace

Well, my friends mostly, who were there for me. Eventually they convinced me.

I don't want to leave Islam anymore, I think I was in emotional haste. But I've caused so much drama here, I'm sure I'm not wanted. I am going to sleep on it and think about it for sure.

:) thank you for putting me to ease, i was feeling bad and wondered if i could have been less direct when i saw you felt hurt by the response you got from some of us. we do sometimes come across toughened trolls and therefore go into instant guarded mode. you seem to be totally new and sincere in your search, something that seemed to pass us by. i hope you understand.
please feel free to ask questions and also join us in the official jokes thread to lighten up a bit.
most people here are wonderful and eager to help and give support if they see a sincere brother or sister who is struggling in their search, i'm sure you'll realize that soon if you get to know everyone.

again, apologies for anything i may have said that was insensitive :p
and hope to see you posting away tomorrow.
peace,

your brother Abz

We are all emotional at times. We do not want you to leave Islam or the forum in haste. I can understand your being upset about the Islamic view on certain topics from your own personal perspective, but there are certain things that are considered permissable (halal) and others that are forbidden (haram). Islam is a way of life that we believe was given to us by God to show us how to live our lives, the proper beliefs to have about the unseen, and how to worship our Creator. It is not an easy decision to become a Muslim as it is not popular and it is sometimes a lonely journey, but I believe it is the right decision. I am the only Muslim in my entire family (except for my wife) and my own son is agnostic. The only Muslims I see during the week are those I see during Jumuah salah on Friday, but still my hope and prayer is to remain a Muslim until my final breath.

I second that.

It seems things got out of control because of the nature of that thread, where we were dealing with an older member of this forum.

Hope to see you as a Muslim posting away on these forums.

Peace.
