AsSalaamul Alaykum brothers and sisters of another mother/father!

I stumbled upon this board in the Internet yah. Actually I think I made an account here previously, (the board style/categories look familiar), but the User account details seems to have slipped my mind.:?

Well anywho! I am a muslim of course--a muslimah at that. Thats all the infor for now. :rollseyes

Well umm...I think the main purpose I joined was to:

1) join a like-minded online muslim community.
2) enhance my Islamic knowledge...and to perhaps increase others too. I be thirsty for that Islamic knowledge yah!! ;D

....3) Use these cool smileys! :giggling:

:sister: :brother: :X :statisfie :okay: <--Aww how cute these are!

Well it is nice being here and InshaAllah may my stay be long, beneficial and...fun. :okay:

WaAlaykumasalaam,

Thanks for the welcome charisma.

I am really not confused about a particular thing. My intention these days is to increase my Islamic knowledge because I find that it is something I am really lacking. Therefore the confusion is over my state of iman...and how I am reluctant to increase it. InshaAllah I am taking major steps though...maybe this forum will also aid me?

Make sense? Or am I just rambling on...:heated:

Oh cool!

Thank you:) .. for me wasn't too clear :-[ this iman word posted in her previous post.

Thanks for the welcome all!

a-isha--I know I think I am addicted already!

Mara--A bit yes. I am moreover confused about the state of it. I was listening to a lecture the other day. The lecturer (Yayha Ibrahim) was speaking about the importance of knowledge in Islam. And really while I was listening to this wonderful lecture it hit me! I realized how much time I waste each day on unimportant worldy matters and how little time I spent on enriching my deen and increasing my knowledge. Sure I can sing to every song (haraam I know), in my mp3 player, but can I even recite a juz in the Quran? No, I can't. And it is pretty sad. I have numerous resources around me to utlize but I don't............And now I am starting to change all that... (InshaAllah)

Reading your words I am under the impression you have very strong Imam. I think you are striving for perfection. That is something we all need to try to achieve. Yet, we need to understand it is an impossibility. We have to shed our arrogance of thinking we can accomplish that which is only atainable by Allah(swt). None of us will ever do anything that will earn the praises of Allah(swt) it is our de'en to praise Him.

We all fall short, it takes a strong Imam to be not willing to accept our failures. You know Allah will never ask you to do anything you can not do. I doubt you have the right to ask yourself to do so. Pray to Allah(swt) and beg him to let you know what strengths you have and concentrate on them. Do your best in all areas, excell in the areas you have genuine strengths.
