People of knowledge never make predictions because they know that the future belongs to the domain of the unseen. They are the ones who would say "inshallah" whenever they speak about doing something in the future. They know that things only happen if it is Allah's will that they happen. They don't make any predictions because they do not know what is Allah's will.

Plenty of verses from the Qur'an and hadiths underline this great principle embodied in the quote by Lao Tze.

Eg. 1. They ask when is the Hour? Tell them o Prophet that the knowledge of the Hour is only with Allah.

2. And no man knows how, where and WHEN he will die.

3. The importance of saying "inshallah" is emphasized in the Qur'an.

4. Making predictions is actually forbidden in Islam! Consider the hadiths and verses regarding fortune-telling, gambling, indulging in speculation.
