"And is there any little one amongst the Companions of Muhammad ?"

One Sahabi, angered at someone who was insolent

We are standing a few yards from the finish line which are the most important yards in the whole race, because they define the real winners.

Abu Na’eem reported: Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Nothing benefits a man after faith in Allah as much as a wife with good character, loving and fertile. Nothing harms a man after unbelief in Allah as much as a wife with evil character and a sharp tongue.”

Al-Qurtubi reported: Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, heard a man saying, “O Allah, make me among the few.” Umar said, “What is this supplication?” The man said, “I refer to the saying of Allah the Exalted: And few of My servants are grateful.” (34:13) Umar said, “All of the people know better than you, O Umar!”

Umar once said to the unbelievers (more or less), around the time when he accepted Islam and made it public:

"we will kill you when our number become 300".

Khalid, the lion of Allah on an expedition sent a letter to Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), and he (Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family) was in Madina.

Part of the letter of Khalid to Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) was:

"I thank Allah for thee".

5:48. And We have revealed to you this perfect Book comprising the truth and wisdom, fulfilling (the prophecies of) the Scripture which was present before it and stands as a guardian over it, then judge between them according to that which Allâh has revealed (of the Qur’ân), and do not deviate from the truth that has come to you in order to follow their low desires. For each one of you did We prescribe a spiritual law and a well-defined way (- a code in secular matters). And if Allâh had so willed He might have made you all one community (by force), but He wishes to show your perfection (the capacities and capabilities) that He has endowed you with. Therefore vie one with another in (doing) good deeds. To Allâh is the return of you all, then He will inform you as to that wherein you were at variance.

5:51. O you who believe! Do not take those particular (type of) Jews and Christians (who are enemies of Islam) for allies. They are allies of one to another (when against you), and whoso from amongst you takes them for allies, is indeed one of them. Verily, Allâh does not guide the unjust people to attain their goal.

"You are effeminate ones."

Ali, k.

I made a mistake. This was a saying of Abd Al Qadir Jilani (Rahmatullah Alayh, Alayhi Salam), to people, comparing them to the COmpanions ("you are effeminate ones compared to them").

Ali said something like: "I see none (of you) who is like them (the Companions)".

Note: Abd Al Qadir Jilani emphasized, like all saints of Islam, the love of God. The Qur'an says, "Follow the way of those who come to Me in love".
ALi(k) was young during the time Muhammad(peace be upon him and his family) lived. He lived long after Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).

How about a quote from Allah Almighty ?

He told one day His beloved, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), more or less:

"when I love someone, I become his eyes with which he sees, his ears with which he hears, his hands with which he grasps and his feet with which he walks...if he asks something of Me, I will surely grant it to him."

Seek this in Bukhari.

There has been interpretations, but an interpretation is an interpretation, just like a Tafsir is a Tafsir, Tafsirs are different from a scholar to another scholar, and so on and so on....And some sayings of Allah and Verses of QUr'an and Hadiths are very obvious; not needing interpretations, being very obvious in meanings.

My favorite by far is : 'If you come to Allah walking, He will meet you rushing' - the praise just encapsulates all of Allah's immense mercy, His love and peace, all of which we can only begin to comprehend and yet He meets us rushing each and every time

Hide the good you do, and make known the good done to you.
~ Ali ibn abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him)

Re: Hadeeth of the day

Narrated from Ali b. AbiTalib (A.S):
Your religious brothers are of two types:Pleasing brothers and authentic brothers, so treat them accordingly.

I'm not sure if there's a place here to share beautiful quotes. But there are so many of them. I'd like to add in a quote or saying on a daily basis.

Here's my first:

A man slips more by his tongue than by his foot!
Arabs say:
In human being there are two pieces of meat. If corrected, the man's corrected: the heart and the glossa
