It made me dizzy.

OK, math really is a thing of beauty once you see the symmetry. Actually the comprehending of the symmetry is very beneficial in understanding the more advanced aspect. I suspect it was the realizations of these beautifull patterns that led the Early Muslims to develop algebra.

Those who aren't gifted in mathematical skills are usually good in language skills and tend to fare better in subjects such as History and Literature..

Read a book about "Creativity"..it says that people who are good in math use the Left side of the brain and if not they use the Right side(hemishpere).. I use both, lol. ;D

i do like differentiation and intergration and algerbra i don't like angles because they are sooooooooo boring but maths is so much better then physics. physics is annoying and boring

^^ sorry off topic but why is it annoying lol..

i hate angles too especially the hyperbolic sines and cosines.. differential calculus is sweet :)

I enjoy Sine,Cos and Tan. They are fun.:)
Infact, I think I prefer algebra more than anything else.
I am doing AS Maths in the summer holidays and algebra was my first topic (yesterday). Its so much fun!!SubhanAllah.
:w:

they'r fun as long as ur just required to find an angle in a triangle or something like that lol.. but i reeeealllly hate it when they giv u something like

3 = sinh(cosh(tan(x)))

and then find value of x.. or something silly like that lol... u prob havnt seen sinh n cosh yet (pronoucned shine and cosh)

salam

No. I haven't. But it seems okay. Its to do with manipulating the formula to get the answer. I'm used to that (I do Physics-Alhamdullilah).

maths died for me at the end of my highschool life...but all my friends are maths psychos so i give it creadit for their sake...and subhannallah...if we look close enough we can see Allahs absoluteness everywhere...

Salam.
I absolutely agree.

My .......still can't get away from maths even on an islamic site!!!

lol......well see me in maths we don't get along, but give me money and i'll do all the working out them teachers asked for, adding, dividing, subtracting....

But yeah true its something quite nice if you you can bare it and you're skilled in it...

~salaam~

Mashallah,Allahu Akbar,Love the patterns,
I love maths,i mean it's easy once u get the TRICK,yes i believe there's one
We Only Using 10 numbers:)
Algebra has always been my favourite part of maths,it is from the arabs?
I Also heard a muslims man came up with the number 0 <<ZERO,,,
am not 100% sure,,

viva maths:) am not good at it though, lol still waiting for a tutor to reveal it's secrets;D to me

it was the egyptians who came up with teh zero, the ones BC.. maybe they where Muslim.. dunno, not sure.. maybe not.

yeh al-jabr was invented by the Muslims.. its amazing how their discoveries was purely for Islam..

al-Khawarizmi who came up with it wrote in the preface of his book that he designed algebra (al-jabr) to help Muslims calculate inheritence shares in an easier way and to understand the verses of surat an-nisa (dealing with inheritence) as well as to help the Islamic court and Muslims in general with dealing with numebrs and calculations especially in field of finance..

Found this on Gawaher in the 2 days without LI...and thought I'd share:

Beauty of Maths!

1 x 8 + 1 = 9
12 x 8 + 2 = 98
123 x 8 + 3 = 987
1234 x 8 + 4 = 9876
12345 x 8 + 5 = 98765
123456 x 8 + 6 = 987654
1234567 x 8 + 7 = 9876543
12345678 x 8 + 8 = 98765432
123456789 x 8 + 9 = 987654321

1 x 9 + 2 = 11
12 x 9 + 3 = 111
123 x 9 + 4 = 1111
1234 x 9 + 5 = 11111
12345 x 9 + 6 = 111111
123456 x 9 + 7 = 1111111
1234567 x 9 + 8 = 11111111
12345678 x 9 + 9 = 111111111
123456789 x 9 +10= 1111111111

9 x 9 + 7 = 88
98 x 9 + 6 = 888
987 x 9 + 5 = 8888
9876 x 9 + 4 = 88888
98765 x 9 + 3 = 888888
987654 x 9 + 2 = 8888888
9876543 x 9 + 1 = 88888888
98765432 x 9 + 0 = 888888888

Brilliant, isn't it?
And finally, take a look at this symmetry:

1 x 1 = 1
11 x 11 = 121
111 x 111 = 12321
1111 x 1111 = 1234321
11111 x 11111 = 123454321
111111 x 111111 = 12345654321
1111111 x 1111111 = 1234567654321
11111111 x 11111111 = 123456787654321
111111111 x 111111111=12345678987654321
