Betting is haram because it's a form of gambling. So if you're using property, money, or anything of value, it's forbidden.

Betting is bad, because you win something unfair. People should earn something they desire by working, not by betting. Betting also leads to extreme violence and jealousy. If let’s say, you and another person are betting for having a luxurious house, but that person won the bet, would you not start to be jealous at him? Would you not start to hate him? Start to fight with him because of this? I’m pretty sure the answer is yes, because no one likes to lose. So, God prohibited for us to bet, so that evil will not occur. Or let’s say, you and another person put in the center 10.000.000.000€ and you lost the bet, and the other one took all the money, you know the saying “the winner takes all” would you start to hate him because you lost the money? God likes fair work, righteousness and justice.
